SadieN Posted May 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2011 Found this -- Water, and very good water at that, is available for free in the Main Dining Room and in the restaurant on the Lido Deck. There is an unlimited soda program called 'Bottomless Bubbles' and you can purchase it for a day or the week. Here's the information: Carnival Cruise Lines will offer all guests the option to purchase a “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program which will allow the guest unlimited soft drinks and juices for the duration of the cruise at a one-time purchase price. Prices are as follows – a 15% gratuity will be added. Child Rate Per Day $4.50 (17 years of age and younger) Adult Rate Per Day $6.00 (18 years of age and older) Upon purchasing the “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program, a sticker will be placed on the guest’s Sail & Sign card. “Bottomless Bubbles” can be purchased at the ship’s Casino Bar and Pool Bar. In all areas where beverage service is offered, guests may show the “Bottomless Bubbles” sticker and receive a glass of the carbonated soft drink of their choice. Juices may also be requested. One 16 ounce glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the Sail & Sign card with the “Bottomless Bubbles” sticker attached. The “Bottomless Bubbles” unlimited soda program is non-transferable and may not be shared. Guests or family members who would like to enjoy soft drinks through this program must purchase their own sticker. One beverage serving, per sticker, will be served at a time. Soft drink is served by the glass (16 ounces); juice is served by the glass (10 ounces). The program cannot be used through room service or the Interactive TV system, where applicable, or the minibar, where applicable. Note: The following beverages are available in the Lido Deck Restaurant, 24/7 and are complimentary: Coffee; Hot Tea; Hot Chocolate; Lemonade; Ice Tea. :)
Gig103 Posted May 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2011 Can anyone confirm if you get fountain or cans of soda with the card? If cans, would they consider not opening it if I wanted to bring it to my cabin for later?
Colorado Kat Posted May 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted May 25, 2011 I'm pretty sure it is fountain drinks. May depend on what bar you are using. Some smaller bars don't havbe the fountain setup.
Texalana Posted May 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted May 25, 2011 I hadn't heard about cans before. I hope it's NOT cans. :( I buy the soda package only because I like to have fountain sodas. I hope someone can answer this quickly. We leave on the Valor this Sunday and I was planning on purchasing the soda package for myself and my husband. However, I will bring my own bottled soda, if all they offer is cans. Thank you in advance for this helpful information. :)

SadieN Posted May 25, 2011 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2011 I've only seen cans on Carnival, but I've never sailed the Valor. They will give you the can when you buy it but not with the sticker. The sticker is a good value if you drink more than 3 soda/juices a day. It breaks even at 3 drinks. They will even make things like cherry coke, Shirley Temples, etc. Juices are available at breakfast. Passo-Guava and OJ in the buffet. OJ, pineapple, tomato, apple and others in the MDR. They can also be ordered thru roomservice.

sherilyn70 Posted May 25, 2011 #10 Share Posted May 25, 2011 Victory does not have fountain drinks, only cans. We bought this in February and used it for juices and soft drinks. It was worth the money for as many as we drank (we also had a bottle of rum from Bon Voyage so we were mixing with them some of the time). They'll let you get things like grenadine in your orange juice as well.

bills blasters Posted May 25, 2011 #13 Share Posted May 25, 2011 You get only cans on all of the 6 ships I have been on. They open them up and pour them into a glass. I have never seen them give the unopened can, but guess it wouldn't hurt to ask. I have not seen them use the fountain soda on the ship.+
bunchesofun Posted May 25, 2011 #14 Share Posted May 25, 2011 Just off the Pride on Sunday. Not sure if it was canned or fountain soda but they give it to you in a glass, no can to take. We paid for ours across from the bar in the Atrium when we boarded. They were able to use it in the MDR when we ordered drinks from the bar staff. My kids drink tons of pop at home, but on the trip, since they had to get it from the bar, they did NOT drink that much and I doubt we broke even on the cards. Rochmom Posted May 25, 2011 #16 Share Posted May 25, 2011 Cans only - there are no fountains on board. I "heard" this is because the fountain soda doesn't taste right using the ship's water supply. I don't know if that's true, or one of the many urban legends. However, YOU CAN PRE-PURCHASE soda "cards". I did so just a few weeks ago. Call the Bon Voyage department's 800 number as found on the Carnival website. The price is $6 per day for an adult, and $4.50 per day for anyone under age 18. Sales tax and a 15% gratuity will be added to the price. The person I spoke with said that the "cards" would be in our cabin when we board, but I have seen other recent posts saying that the sticker was already attached to their S & S card when they boarded. k2excursion Posted May 25, 2011 #17 Share Posted May 25, 2011 No fountain drinks, unless there are a few random spots that I've missed on my ships. It's always been from cans, but they will not give you the can...usually. They will not give you an unopened can. The cans sit out at room temperature, then they pour about half the can into a cup overloaded with ice. So it's instantly watered down and loses most it's carbonation. That's why I no longer get the soda card.

But yes you can purchase the soda card on the 2nd day & get it prorated. I plan to do that as I won't be using the soda card a lot on the first day (half the day is gone by the time you get on & then I will want to get a DOD)! near the beach Posted May 25, 2011 #24 Share Posted May 25, 2011 With the soda sticker you get soda from the can. Whatever fills the glass. With the soda coupon you get whatever fills the glass and the can. If you drink more than three sodas a day the sticker would be the way to go. The children’s sticker is less expensive. The cost of a soda is the same for an adult or a child. If you purchase a soda sticker you can get a cooler at a $2 discount. Both soda stickers and coupons can be used anywhere drinks are sold on the ship including the main dining room. They cannot be use for room service. We like the sticker because if the soda gets watered down sitting in the sun we just get another one. You are supposed to be able to get juice with the sticker. I think I will try that on our cruise in July. :)
CarolinaGirl87 Posted May 25, 2011 #25 Share Posted May 25, 2011 Is there a size restriction on the "12 non alcoholic" drinks you can bring on board? Cans? Bottles? 2 liters?
