Perhaps Seabourn is now embracing 'enrichment' because on our recent Coast of Norway cruise there were 2 lecturers....and this was not a cruise with multiple days at sea. It is indeed difficult to surpass Crystal in this arena. They have always done a wonderful job of presenting stimulating day time activities, including but not limited to, enrichment programs.

It's funny. I'm sure I'll find something to complain about (I'm a born complainer) on our upcoming cruise. But I just feel SO incredibly blessed and fortunate that we are able to afford such an amazing luxury as a cruise, let alone a cruise on Crystal, that I wouldn't dream of finding fault with some of the things that are being criticized here.
Folks .. We are VERY, VERY fortunate. There are people in our country worried about feeding their kids. Let's live in a place of gratitude for our ability to take care of our basic needs and STILL be able to indulge in vacations of our dreams.
Crystal OR Seabourn or even Carnival if that’s all that’s affordable. What an amazing gift we are blessed with.
Off the soapbox.
Scott

Scott, i enjoy each of your posts.

Life is so very short.

Anyone who can cruise on any cruise lines has it lots better than most people around the world.

And to cruise on a luxury cruise is just the icing on the cake.

I look forward to hearing about your cruise. And if you are a complainer, it certainly doesn't come out in your posts. Enjoy!

Keith

Dear Scott,

I couldn't agree with you more! We are so fortunate to be able to sail at all, let alone on Crystal (or Seabourn, if that is your choice).

I hope that Crystal meets and exceeds your anticipation, but if there are things not to your liking, do bring them to the attention of the appropriate person on board.

I'm sorry you are not on our cruise, because your enthusiasm is contagious!

Ricki

Thank you for this kindness Ricki.
And please let me add this. It is SO easy and FUN to be enthusiastic. I think we, as “grownups”, forget that sometimes.

Default If I May Add,

Especially given the tone of OP's first and subsequent comments, I'm constantly surprised, amazed, and delighted by the maturity and civility shown by the posters to this thread.

We are at the moment the happy dog-sitters for a terrific little Dachsie. The last thing his owner commented to Slim: be a credit to your family.

What we're all seeing in post after post here is without question, a credit to the Crystal family.

This thread may be dead, but I do want to add one more thought. There is so much hype in the world. I have been to "luxury" resorts in Jamaica and Costa Maya and other places that were so unappealing and so far from luxury that I would not recommend them to my worst enemy (if I had one). What got us hooked on Crystal is that the experience actually lives up to the advertising. I cannot think of other hotels, resorts or any other restaurants that I frequent, including my own country club, where the service is so top notch and the experience is so downright consistently pleasant. Of course, I have run into a problem from time to time, but the bottom line is that when my wife and I are sailing on Crystal, we are happy. We enjoy the food, the entertainment, the lectures, the casino, the employees, and most of all, the nice people that we meet sailing along with us. When we are onboard Crystal we have not a care in the world, and sometimes the ships stop in some pretty interesting places. What's not to like! ( and this from a guy who is accused of having a personality like Larry David's)

My pleasure Seafairer. We will be back on board the Symphony in less than a month, but tonight I am in your fair city and am about to go out to dinner in Greenwich Village with friends and a couple of our grown kids and significant others.
82 days will pass before you know it!

If I may just re-direct this conversation. I did not say that the problems were caused by AI. What I said was some people expressed a concern that AI MAY result in service problems. Now we have these reports of service issues (for whatever reason) that are totally out of character, especially on Serenity, a ship we have sailed a lot. To make a blanket statement that the problems reported are not a result of AI is to do the "head-in-the-sand" thing. Maybe they were not, but maybe they were. I wasn't there, so I have no way of knowing. I just know that there are an awful lot of "regulars" on this board sailing on one or the other of the ships in the near future. If there are problems they need to be addressed with Crystal via the QAP. While I don't expect there will be any problems, and I don't plan on looking for them, if there are you can be sure they will make there way to the appropriate authority.

Hi!

You are absolutely wrong. I can give you 11 reasons why you book a crystal cruise:
- very good food esp. the patisserie (high quality and good tasting)
- very good staff in all restaurants
- nice decorated staterooms
- well sized bathrooms
- no crowded places on the ships
- nice pool area
- cinema with popcorn
- 1st class Elton John Show
- fresh squeezed orange juice
- The bistro
- free 20 minute internet for online check-in

Best wishes

Stefan

Smile We are so fortunate with such "issues"

To find luxury with genuine friendly warmth is a rarity in the world. The Crystal we love is not about exclusive snobby or fake fancy. Crystal is about warm thoughtful kind welcoming luxury. Do I love the luxury offered by this line? Absolutely and we do not try to nit pick. We shall see for ourselves in 3 weeks if AI changes things. I do miss the As You Wish OBC program but tut tut...

believe me other people would love our problems.

a very lucky,

Ilene
