Default Dining Alternatives on Millennium v. Mercury?

I'm just off the Mercury and the alternative to the dining room was the Palm Springs Cafe but you were required to make reservations ahead of time, be seated formally, etc. Only other alternative was sushi or pizza/baked pasta. Really wanted just to pick up some things on a tray and have dinner without the necessity for reservations, etc, and that was not possible.

So, my question is, on the Millennium will there be such an alterntive?

Thanks,

Gale

PS: otherwise, Mercury is a lovely ship. Well laid out and many nice architectural details.

Hi I loved the Mercury too!...I haven't been on the Millie but I know she is a totally different style of ship. Mercury is C Class (smaller) with Palm Springs Buffet...

Millennium is much bigger (M CLASS) the alternative dining room...is just that, a "Specialty Dining Room" called "The Olympic". You need reservations and I believe it is 25.00 per person. I have been told the food is absolultey FANTASTIC. The restaurant itself holds 134 people so I would think the service is a bit more personalizied too.

Also listed is the Ocean Cafe ( reading off the Millennium on the Celebrity website)...which is the buffet.

And the Ocean Grill ( another restaurant but no fee is involved). It looks like The Grill serves you (rather than buffet style) and I don't believe reservations are needed for this one.

I am still debating on trying the Millie next year too.

Next up...HORIZON Sept 18th to Bermuda!

If you want to see the Olympic menu, take a peek at my site www.celebrity-century.com under food. I know it is not Century related (sorry Lois) but I couldn't help but include the menu. It looks phenomenal..... Thanks again Wes for sending it to me.

I have been on both the Mercury and the ML. The ML for the evening has the main dining room, the alternative on deck 10 which you can make a reservation for, the sushi and pasta/pizza area on deck 10 and the aqua spa which has dinner until 8pm.or you can have room service in your cabin.Lots of choices and all very good. I'm sure you will enjoy the cruise on the ML. My husband and I have been on 7 times and we are always very pleased!!

Sorry--I forgot the Olympic which is a reservation dining area and the additional cost is $30.00 per person. This is an excellent choice for one evening.
