I had a wonderful pre-surgery day today. Went to lunch with Cindy & Carter then went to see Madagascar 3. It was very cute, but I was a little bummed, we didn't realize we had picked a non 3D showing and the next 3D show was over an hour away. I knew there was no way Carter would wait. It was really cute anyway.

I bought a new bike for Carter, he'd grown so much he needed a new one and I gave it to him today. He loved it! I was so glad. It was hard to drag him off it to go to the movies.

I have to be at the surgery center at 6:30am in the morning. I'll have to get up even earlier than I do on a work day, but that's ok. I like being the first surgery of the day, I have a fresh surgeon! I'm a little nervous, don't know why - I should be used to them by now!

Sounds like you had a good relaxing day before your operation. Good way to do it.You got the best time slot too. My last one was supposed to be early too.We will be thinking of you.

Bet Carter is proud of his bike. I have been thinking of buying one for myself.But it`s too hot to ride it now.Besides I just bought new glasses. And we know that`s not cheap.

Not much going on here. Just marking time til vacation.

I just realised I haven't been over here since the surgery. It did go well, thank goodness. I got there at 6:30 and was on my way home a little after 10:00! Not bad at all. More pain than I expected, and sleeping sitting up is definitely not easy, but overall not bad. I'm following Sharon's advice and taking pain meds as needed. This is not the time to try and be a tough guy. The hardest thing is trying to do everything with one hand since my right arm is in a big sling/brace thing. I go bsack to th doctor Wednesday and will hopefully start physical therapy soon. I'm definitely ready.

Good to hear from you. Sounds like you are behaving. You will be back to new in no time.Physical therapy isn`t fun. But necessary.

I got frustrated when I was in my cast. So know the feeling. And it was my left. At least you won`t be in as long as I was.Fusions take lots longer.

Cooled a lot today. Had clouds. High was 92F until a front came through. Dropped to 80F where it stayed. Only rained for a couple of minutes.Take what we can get.

I'm having a wonderful day today. I booked our 2013 Disney vacation this morning. Wade and Waylan are going too, so we booked a couple of family suites at the new Art of Animation resort.

Then this afternoon I had my first post op appt and it couldn't have gone better! The doctor even told me I was ahead of the healing curve. Not something I hear much, being a diabetic. I'm doing so well that he released me to go back to work next week! I was also thrilled to discover the incisions are very small, hardly can see them at all.

I'm so happy to have good news

John - My first PT session isn't until this Thursday, that was the quickest they could get me in. Right now I'm just doing exercises they gave me after surgery. I do them 4 times a day and I think thaat's one of the reasons I'm doing so well. I'm anxious to start the real therapy though. Still too many things I can't do yet. I had a breakthrough today. I was able to put on a tee shirt instead of a button down for the first time! I know its not much, but a big step for me!

You're really on short time now for your cruise! The time really seems to fly once you get into double digits.

Terri maybe you will be doing so well by Thursday you won`t need therapy. Wouldn`t that be a nice thought.

I have been waiting to see those double digits. Starts getting exciting when you get there.Pretty soon they will be wanting me to pay for the rest of the cruise.The bad part.

I made it through the first two days. Yesterday was fine, today not so good. One of our custodians steam cleaned the front office carpet while I was at lunch & also decided to steam clean the plastic cover my chair sits on. Not a good move on his part or mine. There was slippery left over cleaner on it and the minute I stepped on it my feet came out from under me. My shoulder is just a little achy, but my bad knee is killing me and quite swollen. I didn't go to the doctor, but I may have to go tomorrow if it doesn't get better. So, so frustrating when I was doing so well.

Terri we need to wrap you in bubblewrap!! Sure hope it`s just bruising. Do you get any free time this summer so you can prop up your feet and relax before school starts in the fall?

Still scorching hot here. 107F yesterday. Woke up to the sound of machinery operating.Water main broke again! Twice this month.Heat causes the ground to shift and break the lines.

I need a cruise! Still 3 months away. Dang!!

Still no releif here. 105F today. And I made angelhair pasta with tomato sauce. Not bright! LOL! But it was darn good.

Hi folks! Hope all is well with everyone. Still the same old thing here. 104F yesterday. Dang near 90F already for today.

Getting real close to the cruise now. All paid for and ready. Almost time to go get the bags out of storage.Been almost two years. We need this.

It's not hot here anymore....it was probably in the 70's today. We've had some rain too. I see some green growing in my yellow grass....thank goodness.

My cruise is about 2.5 months away. Will make final payment this week.....
I'm looking forward to our pre-cruise trip to Paris. Have never been so it should be an awesome visit. We're flying Iclandic Air too.....just for the thrill of it.

So we will be gone about the same time. We leave for Ft Lauderdale on the 22nd of October.

More good news on the cruise front. Got an upgrade!We are on Aloha Deck. Top passenger deck on that ship. And almost all the way aft. Close to the Sanctuary pool.Pretty cool.

It was just 84F here today. Nice break. Still no rain. Someday maybe.

Somehow managed to lose my link to this thread, took me awhile to find it again! I've once again saved it to my favs, hopefully won't lose it again. Been busy getting ready for school start again. Tomorrow's the big day.

Glad you found us again. Good luck with school. Seems like you just got done.

Not long for sure. The roll cal is booming now. Making lists. Finalizing who is going on what excursion. Giving ideas for those who may be undecided.Even got American Express paid for the final payment. Must be really close.

We did something different today. Went to our own zoo! Been to zoos on our cruises from Hawaii to Belize and ignored our own. Good exercise and saw how nicely they have updated ours.

I've just about made it through the first week of the kids being back. I worked 16 hours Monday, 13 Tuesday. Wednesday was my physical therapy day so I only worked 10 hours and I was there for 14 hours again today! You would not believe how tired I am! Should be much better, I hope, next week!
