Default Incomplete details on Cruise Personaliser - Is this a problem?

Hi everyone, just looking for some reassurance ...

We're all booked, and we have our eTicket (I've even printed it out), but some of the details in our Cruise Personaliser are incomplete - namely, the passport information for all passengers.

As we have the eTicket printed out, showing the cabin number and everything, I imagine this won't be a problem. But should I check with the travel agent, just to be safe?

I'm wary of going in and updating the details in case I "break" something and we're not allowed on our first ever cruise - how crazy is that!!!

You shouldn't break anything - worst case is whatever you enter isn't saved and you enter it again.

Sometimes you can get by certain steps, but you'll still likely have to do them later. Particularly as it's passport info which is necessary, I'd enter it as soon as possible.

Hi, I can't imagine you being refused boarding for missing some information or making a mistake, but I would go and update the passport information if you have it. We printed our e-ticket before we even had our daughters passport number, but it still let us go in and update it.

It was actually quite easy. Once you have logged in, choose update details, choose passport details, but just make sure you have selected the correct passenger by using the radio buttons up the top before you enter the details. As well as the passport number you will need correct spelling of each passengers middle names, issue date and expiry date of the passport. Good luck and I'm sure if you make a mistake it could be corrected with just a phone call.

We were unable to enter my wifes passport details on the cruise personaliser for our upcoming P&O cruise and we found out that it was because she had less than 6 months validity on her passport.

This is not of any concern when you are cruising just between Auusie and NZ but there is an automatic block on being able to enter details because a minimum of 6 months is required if you are calling in to a country outside of Australasia.

Our agent phoned P&O and they put the details on for us.

Hope this helps.

Last year we couldn't get our e-tickets until the P&O Cruise Personaliser was completed ... we thought it was completed but obviously something went missing somewhere....

If this is a cruise to "foreign" destinations - it is ESSENTIAL that the cruiselines have your Passport details.

I have noticed a kind of "disconnect" between the cruiselines need for all the details required in the Cruise Personaliser to be filled out - and the TA's desire to ensure that this is done. I have even heard of a TA demanding extra money to do this.

It really is up to you ( and in your interest) to ensure that it is all complete- don't rely on the TA.

The first time our TA told me to do this I thought "I'll never manage".

Once you have done it a few times you realise it is much easier than relying on a Travel agent as you can pre-book shore tours and change your mind at any time right up to sailing- and once on ship you can still change your mind.
Booking tours ahead does mean you at least are booked on something and have options.
