Day three....Jamaica Mon....
Our room steward was from Jamaica and taught us the proper way to say 'mon' haha...he was so funny and was always saying hello to us by name any time we passed him in the hall ways...NEVER had to ask twice for fresh ice in the room...after the first request, it was always there waiting for us as if he knew we'd set foot on board and he'd refill it and vanish...

arriving at the pier, and backing into the parking spot...glad I didn't have to do that!! the Voyager was our neighbor that day...

the 'welcoming committee'

and just off the port...extreme poverty of the area...
and this was one of the 'nicer parts' of town that we saw on our way to Rose Hall...

Our only glimpse of the 'great house' from the tour bus...

an 'outbuilding' of sorts...and the starting point for our zip line tour...

they look more impressive in this shot...but they were like class one rapids...so pretty tame..

again our group after the kayaking...

I lost the CD of the pictures they took on the bus on the way back to the ship I was heart sick...I emailed them when I got back home, they took a great deal of effort to sort through all the groups they photographed that day and were able to find us and send us a link via email to download our photos...they never did find our disk. But we were able to get our pictures after all, I was impressed they saved them and that they were so great about helping us reclaim our vacation memories...fabulous staff!!

Day Four...Grand Cayman Island...wave runner to stingray city and snorkeling at rum pointe...great fun!

Tendering off the ship was new to us...but went fairly quickly...
the princess ship near us used their own lifeboats..which seemed to take longer.

Getting our stingray "massage"...

how clear the water is....and they swim right up to you and rub against your legs like a cat...they want squid...

the snorkeling..my first attempts...the water was a bit rough and I soon tired out, but I want to try again...in calmer waters next time...

didn't see many fish here, I guess they didn't like the rough water either...

some neighboring ships from the Norwegian line...

some scuba divers return...

nice buffet right next door,

and a wedding on the beach... I felt like I was crashing in my bathing suit... A little under dressed for the occasion.

A D1 'Superior ocean view balcony"...room 1702... a full aft balcony is a room on the 'butt' end of the ship...not on the sides, like most balcony rooms...ours was extra large and just as nice as the junior suite down the hall from us, I actually liked our room better and it was cheaper...the 'regular' balconies are smaller, just room for a straight back chair or two and a tiny table, but this one had those along with the loungers..not much for sunbathing, but great for relaxing...

the view if you look straight down from our balcony, the balcony of the person under us, a family suite I believe...and not very private...we were directly under the windjammer so very private, no one looking over on to our deck unless they were right next door to us...

AND I'll add a fabulous view...great pictures of the ports as we were docking or setting sail...

If memory serves me correctly they were the 'sea days' so that would be day two and 7...I'd have to dig out my compass to double check...I did figure out from other posters on the CC boards and planned our night out at Portofinos for Labadee day, as lobster night was the day after, and I didn't want to miss lobster day in the MDR...my favorite dish, any the waiter ended up bringing me THREE!!! I was SUCH a PIG!!! [by the way, My DH was the one who asked him to bring them to me, cause he knows I love them so much, and they were kinda small...but the best cooked lobster I've ever had, not too tough or rubbery...]

Was the transportation ok - were they reasonably on time etc? And was the hotel itself and the room nice (mostly as in clean)? Thanks for taking the time to post your pictures and review!
Rooms were clean, the DH is very adamant about room cleanliness and checks for bed bugs and stuff...Good to say that the room passed his military white glove inspection...
transportation was running smoothly, walked right up the next morning loaded the baggage and off we went...believe they left every 15 minutes or so, so no big wait, unless you are in a large group...no problem...

the windjammer...our favorite spot to pull into a new port, then head up down one flight of stairs to our room...and hit the beach!

random pics of ship...

The touch screens to guide you around the ship or check out what's happening around the ship...electronic cruise compass...

Thanks so much for your pictures. They went a long way in "convincing" me to book Freedom 10/21/12. I'll enjoy going back and looking at your pictures/reading your review (and others).
Thanks again!

The pictures and reveiw are wonderful. I really liked to finally see pics of the buffet lunch on Labadee. How did you like the aft? We will be in 9404 in April. I really can not wait.

the DH was the one to convince me to try the aft...not sure I'd like it...It was fabulous, would love to book the same room again...spoiled now...

The room was so much larger than other balconies we saw and have stayed in...I encourage everyone to sign up for the meet and greet on your ship and if someone organizes a 'cabin crawl' go along...it gave us great insight into future cruises as to what cabin category to avoid or to book...we saw a junior suite that was actually two doors down from our room that was a bit wider and the only difference was they had a chair and ottoman, otherwise it was the same!! Not worth the extra money in my opinion...we had the better room...of course we also got to see the Royal Suite, which to me would have been a huge waste of money, unless you were in a large group, even then you'd have to sleep on couches or roll away beds? The inside cabin was really tight, but if it meant cruising or not cruising...I'd still want cruising...but I sure would miss the balcony and an ocean view...

Love the pics and your stateroom was a nice size, especially the balcony area. We've been on the Freedom a couple times and I never get tired of that ship. Thanks for sharing!
