Coming back down the California coast in today's pictures. The first one is still at Nepenthe, showing the clear sky overhead buy slightly foggy moisture stuff down at the ocean:

A few miles down the coast:

A house Jan said she's going to buy me:

Zoomed in on the house from a slightly different angle. I'm trying to figure out where to put the tennis court:

Getting farther down the coast, out of Big Sur. It's not as steep or as green:

And the whole time we were out there we didn't see a single bear.

Put the tennis court inside on the 2nd floor. That's what I had to do. THen you don't have to worry about wind direction or facing the sun.

You know how you can look at the food porn threads and get hungry? I am having delayed withdrawals from leaving California.

In today's set of pictures, and thankfully the last, we start out still driving down the coast. This first one is maybe 30 miles north of Cambria:

And here are some of the elephant seals near San Simeon just north of Cambria:

I can't resist another sunset, this one from our second night in Cambria:

Here's the view out the five-sided window in the guest room where we stayed with our friends in Laguna Beach. Not a bad location for a house:

Here's a picture from a little below their house looking up at it. You can see our window on the bottom floor. They get the best view from the top floor. We always thought guests should have the best view, but I guess when you're crashing you can't be picky:

And this last picture is for Tom and all you other animal lovers. It's not a very good picture, but it was taken when we visited the marine mammal stranding center in Laguna Beach. The day we were there they had 48 seals, sea lions, etc. They teach them how to take care of themselves, catch their own fish, etc., then release them back into the ocean.

Okay, that's it from California. It was really hard to trim it down to 22 pictures, but we managed. Tomorrow we'll start posting pictures from SS's hemorrhoid procedure.

Wow that's a lot of seals, etc. I was part of the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network. I learned how to rescue dolphins. That said we never got to rescue one while I was a part of it. Not going to lie I was a little jaded...

That said heres a little primate love.

OK so my dress for my DS's wedding is ready and I don't LOVE it. Navy w/ some bugle beads. But my SHOES!! I wanted something totally NOT navy or black or even a metallic. SO these are what I'm wearing. Until they start hurting and then I'll go barefoot:

Beautiful shoe, Sharon. Unusual design on the platform. Not many people could pull it off, but I'm sure you can.

I thought I recognized the handiwork of Monsieur du Sperme. One of my best friends from college once dated his first wife. It didn't end well, however. She was still Madame du Sperme when he was dating her. He later moved to Plano and took up with a woman from Pasadena who worked briefly in a marine mammal stranding network with Tom Heitz. Small world, huh?

It's been said that "that old SPERME gets around." I'm not sure who said it. Probably I did.

Default Oh dear lord

thank you for those laughs!

Larry ... I kid you not, when I saw those shoes (did I mention they would be awesome at a very special bear pool in Vegas?) I immediately thought of SS.

You beat me to the punch, my friend. Once again. Basil envy and all.

Sharon ... is there botox for feet? Maybe you won't feel the pain. Then again, they are so sparkly ... who could feel pain with sparkles??
