Yeah, that was us leaving, my husband and me. The majority of the people had left by that point, but she seemed to notice us. It may have been the copper lame shirt I had on that caught her eye.

I don't mind how the evening turned out. If there had been some flawless hour of rich entertainment, I would have left entertained. Here, I got a story. And the story I have to tell ends with, "I don't blame RSVP. When you have an act like Carrie Fisher, it's a roll of the dice, and that night just came up snake-eyes."

Overall, the cruise was great. My husband went on board with something like dread, but by the time it was over he was ready to sign up for the next cruise. So ... if we can get this cruise (and the wedding) paid off in 10 months, see you on MSC! (Though not in the snobby, sequestered part of the ship. Private dining and private pool? No fun!)

*EDIT* Ooh! Post 701! Homage to Sister Helen Holy!

It was 3 years since my last RSVP and I had the time of my life. Especially loved the new entertainment as I was not familiar with many acts but fell in love with Frenchie Davis, Kim Kuzma, Jessica Kirson, Cashetta, Poppi Kramer and CD Brad grew on me during the week.

Loved the classic acts such as Sister Helen Holy & her 701 Club, Amy & Freddy (didn't see them enough and what a surprise to be able to see them again on the final night & and on short notice) and the incomparable Gert (thank goodness for Gert Alerts).

The headliners do not make or break the 7 day cruise for me and I did meet and chatted with Carrie Fisher on the last tender back and saw her show but I couldn't sit through it as I have friends that are bi-polar and have episodes like she was experiencing that day. I wish her the best and admire her and loved hearing her stories and her moments of brilliance. I wish her the best.

So many old friends and the fantastic bash by Terry & Jim is always the highlight of my week as well as the cruise critic meet organized by Peter & Richard. You guys along with Donald Burke whom I adore always made me feel so welcome when I traveled solo for many years. This year I was plus one.

Hopefully anyone checking this thread will see what a great time we all had and want to book next year's RSVP sailing March 15, 2014 on MSC Divina. BIG, BETTER and More FUN.

Our sailaway (unfortunately no sound): http://www.inletphotos.com/Sail-Away...9137&k=qhTMVmq

The RSVPcruisers group was on Marc's big deck with all the flags - right below the Lido deck where everyone else was.

It is so funny how SMALL the back deck looks on the ship where all the parties were held. During the sail-away Bob and I went up to the party deck, and I was surprised when the buildings started to move! Didn't realize that in fact we were finally leaving the port.

LOL... I had a similar experience at sail away. Actually the first thing that happened for me is I saw us moving forward and said "yay!" but then realized it was the Carnival ship next to us pulling out of it's berth sideways. It gave me a very weird vertigo moment. Then when we finally did actually leave, I had no clue until I noticed the port was gone. And this was before I started drinking!!! LOL

FYI - The Huffington Post (and others) had a couple of YouTube videos of Carrie Fisher's "performance" posted yesterday, including the "poo" episode. All copies have since been removed, stating "Carrie Fisher Copyright Issues."

Yes, the disaster has been publicized on most of the gay websites. I even heard them talking about it on a local radio station this morning.

It was only reported as a cruise ship performance. No mention of any type of charter.
