Good afternoon Cruisers,

Janice, you just have too much time on your hands. That paragraph was just not right or is that write. LOL

I found another tour company in my Frommers eBook. Here is the link: http://www.toursbyisabelle.com/ There is several different plantation tours but the one I like is the Oak Alley and Laura Plantation tour. It doesn't take all day so we will have time to see other things.

Hope everyone is having a great day. I'm looking forward to the weekend.

Dave

Dear Dave, I found that paragraph and thought it was perfect...admit it you could read it! Way too scary!

I have seen the above tour and that company is highly recommended too. Plus the fact it isn't a full day is a plus too!

I hope you have a fun weekend; we just got back from seeing Cavalia!

I know that you were not the first one to make that mistake so be it!

Hope you have fun weekend plans...we just got back from seeing Cavalia, have you seen it? The horses were talented and so beautiful.

Tomorrow is a wine party at a winery and more wine tasting. However, as the designated driver I won't be having that much to get me in trouble. IT is supposed to be 100 tomorrow; yikes!

Carol, I have been called Jan (which I hate), Janet and a French sounding version of Janice which I like. So I answer to almost anything...

Are you house hunting again? It is going to be HOT your way! Hello to Narce.

...I just noticed that you have sailed several times on Azamara. I would love to hear your pros and cons on the smaller sailing and the more upscale ambience; isn't that how they advertise?

My dream cruise would have to include Greece and Turkey! Hope you have fun weekend plans!

Well, it was a good plan, but the Wifi crashed, bummer. I had a movie on the iPad, so it was still a good flight. And sitting next to the business class galley (in coach) has its benefits - hey, here's a leftover glassof champagne. Oh, this cab is going to go to waste. Want a cookie?

Anyway, about Azamara: both of our cruises were before they spun off from Celebrity and positioned themselves as a more luxurious experience. They were pretenders to the throne when we sailed, IMO. We did a PC transit on Journey, 16 nights. I was ready to go home after 14 - the ports were just so-so,a nd the ship got boring after about 12 nights. I'm not a fan of the flowrider, rock wall, etc., but this was the opposite extreme.

But our Best of Italy cruise on Quest still ranks as my favorite ever, just because the itinerary was BRILLIANT - overnights in Sorrento, Ravenna and Venice, other great ports (we only had 2 sea days in 14 nights), fabulous food onboard, and a really engaging crew, from the Captain all the way down.

I posted reviews on both, that you can find if you go back to 2008 (Journey) and 2009 (Quest). My thought is that they are a "port" line - they can get into places that the mega ships can't, and it's nice to come back to a wonderful dinner after a day of exploring. But for late night or really active stuff, one would be disappointed, I think. It says something they we closed down the nightclub most nights, sometimes as early as 11:30.

Jean - sounds like those cruises were you took on the Quest were ideal = would that be the same as a River Cruise? always wanted to do one like on the Danube for example - Carol

Back to the mundane subject of parking. I'm inclined to park at the cruise terminal secure covered parking. Luggage transfer to/from ship is not an issue because we'll be packing very light. Concerned mostly about security and cover from hailstones.

Anyone discover alternate covered secure parking near terminal?

Hello Jean! I trust that you are now home! Thanks for the comments and I will see about going back to read your full reviews...there are many things to consider when deciding which ship to take besides itinerary. The idea of overnight stays is appealing!

FYI, I have heard the closing down early about some of the Celebrity ships too!

Jimmy James has provided information about parking a number of posts ago...I think the cruise terminal is the best bet and depending on which cruise line you are sailing from the lot is different too.
