Replacement for the Monarch
With pullmutar officially announcing Monarch being added to its fleet, it's time to start the speculation. Will RCCL be keeping a 3-4 night ship in Port Canaveral????? And if so what will be replacing her? Ready set go!!!!!

Sorry to hear that Monarch is leaving RCI's fleet. We enjoyed one of our best cruises ever aboard that ship.

I would have guessed that they would have kept Monarch until the Project Sunshine ships enter service; then one of those would bump another ship, which would in turn bump another one . . . and so on down the line, until finally, a Vision class ship takes over the Port Canaveral - Bahamas route.

Just back from Monarch
We just cruised on the monarch, it was great! I love that ship! On the way into the port our shuttle driver told us that monarch was staying and freedom is going to New York and that allure will be replacing freedom. I didn't know if I should believe him but I'll pass along the gossip!

Three Options:
Option A) No replacement, although I believe this is highly unlikely.
Option B) Majesty moves up from Miami to PC, thus allowing RCL to place a larger ship in the 3/4 night market. Maybe a Radiance Class?
Option C) Vision Class Ship replaces Monarch.
Remember that it is rumored that Jewel is NOT going to Europe next year, so maybe she will be a temporary replacement?

I like the last one I would also like to see some itinerary changes, something like the Majesty does with a key west stop

Vision is going back to Europe, Rhapsody to Alaska, & Legend/Splendour will probably be in Asia and Europe respectively. That leaves us Grandeur & Enchantment.
Maybe we will see some significant movement of ships to new home ports

Coming from a shuttle driver it is just that, Gossip. Monarch is likely going away but IMHO I doubt that Freedom is going anywhere and IMHO Oasis/Allure will be staying in Ft. Lauderdale.

Grandeur seems like a more likely candidate IMHO.
Leave Jewel sailing from Tampa. I think she's perfect in that market...

She must be leaving early next year because the article says that she will get a refurbishment before entering service with Pullman in April 2013. Guess we will know in a couple of weeks!

From Google Translate:
Monarch expands Pullmantur fleet in 2013
PressTUR 03.16.2012 (10h49) Pullmantur will increase its fleet to five vessels in April 2013 with the introduction of the Monarch going to count in 2013 with a fleet of five ships, increasing its total capacity by 24% or approximately 500 000 passengers.
Pullmantur says in a statement that the new ship, which was part of the Royal Caribbean fleet as Monarch of the Seas will be the flag ship, along with its twin Sovereign.
The ship will be completely refurbished before its "debut" scheduled for later in April passengers can enjoy the All Inclusive service of Pullmantur who will be present in six restaurants, four bars, disco or piano bar and cabins in 1993.
During the days are promised a set of varied activities around the two swimming pools, solarium, gym, Jacuzzi, dance floor area and recreational area and sports facilities on the highest deck of the ship.
To enjoy moments of relaxation and beauty treatments at the Monarch passengers have available to service del Mar Spa and beauty salon. The evening promises lots of entertainment in the hall of Broadway shows and glamor at the casino in the purest style of Monte Carlo and the Starlight nightclub.
The Monarch has a capacity of 2,769 passengers and was built in 1991 in the shipyard of Chantiers de l'Atlantique (now STX France) in Saint-Nazaire in France, thus becoming one of the largest cruise ships with 73,192 tons.

I'll be on her next month and I hope we'll be able to get in a few more before she leaves. Now I'll have to track down where my favorite crew goes.

Hoping a larger ship takes her place..........even if it is a Vision class.

We'll be on her for the first time in May. Actually she's our first for everything as this is our first cruise. Don't think we'll be able to get back in her before she goes away, but I'm glad we get to experience her at least once.

I vote for Option C
Or either the Indy or Liberty doing shorter cruises!!!
And Cozumel and Key West instead of the Bahamas. I imagine people at RCL must know the answer and are keeping a tight lip on it!!! Someone must know the answer
