Default Germaine's Luau taking Carnival cruise

I will be taking a 15 day Carnival cruise to Hawaii next year. I will be in Honolulu from 9AM until 11PM. I am thinking of going to Germaine's Luau and they have a free shuttle that picks up at the Aloha Tower.

Has anybody done this luau on their own this way using Germaine's shuttle and been in port during these hours? If you have done this, did you have any problems? Any info you can give me would be fantastic.

Thanks so much.

Is the Germaine's Luau an official Carnival excursion? If so, that would be the only reason to choose it over Paradise Cove that is regarded as the better of the two.

No, I think Carnival uses Paradise Cove. I guess maybe I might go with the Carnival excursion and go to that Luau. It will just make things easier and that way I don't have to worry about transportation and getting back in time.

WE WERE PICKED UP AT 4:45 AT ALOHA TOWER AND RETURNED BY 9:30...FOOD WAS GOOD, HULA WAS GOOD, BUS DRIVER AND SIDEKICK WAS GOOD...WE LIKED IT...THERE ARE A FEW PHOTOS BELOW>>CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS ONE...worst case you have to get a cab if your bus breaks down?!

my cruise review>>
Century to Hawaii...4/5-4/20/2012
Cruise was great for us...
Honolulu...took bus to waikiki...visited Royal Hawaiian and Moana Surfrider, ate at Dukes....went to Germaine's Luau-picked up and dropped off at Aloha Tower

Lahaina...Hike Maui to see waterfalls and took botanical tour of local plants

Kona...walked long marina...visited farmers market...ate at Fish Hopper...massage at local place that worked on triathletes

Hilo...walked to Banyan drive then took bus tour of local area

Food on ship was extraordinary...first five days had prime rib, colorado rack of lamb, ossobucco, tiramisu, crepes suzette, pistachio ice cream...ate at Muranos=goat souffle wow, filet wow, marble chocolate souffle wow

Got to Captains Table=wow. happy hour for us elites fun met many fine and friendly folks..

Conclusion=will do again...feel sorry for those who don't know how to cruise like this (i.e. don't like sea days, only play cards, eat too much too soon etc.)
