Airtran is driving me crazy

Have our Janaury 13, 2013 AOS cruise all booked. Now if only Airtran would release their dates for them for booking. We have free tickets that have to be booked by June 22 or we loose them. Which is why we can afford the cruise through San Juan. They have had the reservations open through Nov 2 for about 5 months now. It is time to add more. Arrrrrrr!

Is anyone else going crazy with Airtran?

Airtran bookings might be held up as they proceed with their merger with Southwest. I don't know if the Airtran name will be going away at some point.

We are currently accepting air reservations through November 2, 2012. On June 4, 2012, we will open our schedule for sale through January 4, 2013. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently.

Above is from Southwest and I think Southwest and AirTran schedule releases are the same now. Sure hope I am wrong but you may not be able to book past January 4th.

OP- I'd double check the voucher...does travel have to be *booked* by June 22, or does actual travel have to begin or end by that date?

In either case I'd call Airtran and ask for an extension. At worst, they say "no"; OTOH you might end up pleasantly surprised. If the voucher was compensation for something that was their fault (lost luggage, cancelled flight, etc) it may help your case to bring that up.

If they do approve an extension be sure to get the name of the agent, the date and time of your conversation, and most importantly ask the agent for a confirmation or tracking number.

Let us know how this all plays out.

We took a few bumps in Atlanta last June and after the few bumps were done with the two of us had accumulated 8 tickets. They have to be booked by June 22.

we had a similar situation and it wasn't that easy to get flights we wanted, as these 'compensated' flights are from the 'rewards' flights available.
When the schedules open, you can sign in as if you're booking a rewards flight and all the options shown in red are the ones available to you.
June 4th isn't that far away - get right on it as soon as they open.

When Airtran opens up additional dates on June 4 it will only cover travel through January 4, 2012. Doesn't look like that will help the OP......

No, I don't fly AirTran, and I'm not much of a gambler.

Hard to say if you're going to be able to use these vouchers for your trip. From AirTran's webpage:

Flight schedule currently open through 11/2/12. Will extend for future bookings in May/June 2012.
