Default MSC Splendida check in question

Hi, next month will be our first cruise but we're having some troubles with getting from Bergamo (Milan) airport to Genoa port and our last chance is to take train. The problem is that the ship departure at 17:00 and train arrives in Genoa at 16:00. If we get to the ship at 16:15-16:30 will the let us on board or it will be too late?

From the MSC website:

EMBARKATION

Embarkation begins at the time indicated on your cruise ticket.
Check-in closes 90 minutes before the ship is due to depart.

If you do online web checkin, you may be able to arrive later than the 90 mins but I wouldn't risk it.

You may need to change your flight.

I definitely would not risk arriving that late. They are unlikely to allow you to embark that late and you've absolutely no margin for error if anything goes wrong. Definitely change your flight and consider arriving the day before. Bergamot is not that close to Milan. Bus could take around an hour or more to the central station. Then it's a 2.5 hour train ride to Genoa. You then have to lug your cases up stairs and find a taxi. So much could cause delays. I'd say you'd have a much better chance of missing the ship than getting on it.
