Default Caesars Total Rewards Free Cruise Offer

Hey,
So, I just got this offer in the mail today. 7 day Florida/Bahamas Cruise with Inside Stateroom on NCL Jewel out of NY. Free cruise offer worth $1100-1200? is my guess. A few weeks ago i booked the Star to Bermuda in Owners Suite 10006 but final payment not due until middle of June.
Should I cancel Bermuda and book free cruise and pay extra to get suite comparable to Owners Suite? Think I would save a few hundred but would it be worth the hassle? Thanks

I'd do it, but to see what you'd save, check the price of the inside stateroom on the NCL website. You already know what you're paying for the OS, so the price of the inside is what you'd save.

Before you cancel your booking, though, read the fine print carefully and make sure there's no catch. Don't think there will be, but it would be wise to check.

Then call CAS and explain what you want to do. You don't want to be "unbooked" for too long or you risk losing the OS to someone else.

Hi! I have taken the Caesar/Harrahs cruises a couple of times and upgraded to the level I wanted. The upgrade is often more (but sometimes less) that just looking at the list price and subtracting the cost of the cabin offered for free. So I would do it the other way around. I wouldnt cancel anything. I would first call the number for Harrahs on the free cruise certificate and get the price for the date you want and the level of suite you want after applying your certificate and then decide what you want to do.

Do NOT try to compare our offer to others. Or even your last offer.

It is based on many factors, with the biggest being your AVERAGE play on the last cruise. They also have to factor in how sales for that particular cruise are going. CAS has to "buy" the cabin from the NCL group/sale dept so those prices go up and down. Otherwise, they would just give everybody a suite. Right?

Total rewards will sometimes offer comped cruise certificates to their diamond and seven star players. The receiver is responsible for NCF, other fees and taxes, technically it is not "free".

The "free" cruise certificate can come to you in a couple of ways. First of all, it can reach you as just one of many offers you get from TR. I'm sure NCL CAS and TR have some criteria they use for selecting the TR members who get the offer but from comment here on the boards, I know there are all kinds of offers going out to all kinds of players.

Second, you will get the offers if you've cruised in the past, and played in the casinos on the ships using their member rewards system. We still get them from Carnival's casino operation, even though we haven't cruised on carnival in over 4 years.

But you don't have to wait for an offer. As a TR member, you are already entitled to discounted fares on NCL cruises, with the discount amount depending on your TR membership level. Look here for the details:

https://www.totalrewards.com/TotalRe...giancruiseline

No, that won't be a "free" cruise, but it's a nice discount to start with.

Finally, take matters into your own hands. Do you have a casino host or marketing rep that you deal with regularly? If so, ask them about getting an offer. I'm sure they'll help you out however they can.

Another way to go is to just call NCL's Casinos At Sea operation. You may only get the discounted rate on your first cruise, until you establish a level of play with them, but once you join, cruise, and gamble enough, believe me, you'll start getting the offers.

The offers don't just go out to Diamond and Seven Stars level players. Different levels of offers go to different levels of players.

I am a Platinum TR card holder and just picked up my free cruise certificate from showboat in A.C. last week.
I called for info for a October 2012 cruise on the Jewel for a comped inside cabin for two. The taxes & fees with no upgrade came to $639. for 2. A upgrade to a mid-ship mini-suite was an additional $700 extra for 2. We have upto Sept. 12th to reserve any cruise, so I"ll wait to see if the prices will come down for a fall sailing which they usually do.

Call them & explain you already have the booking on the Star & see what they will do for you. We've had cruise credits moved to other options - not sure if it was through Harrah's, Resorts or through CAS themselves though. Can't hurt to ask

I stand corrected. My information came from my executive host, when I received my first cruise certificate. She told me it was offers put out to seven stars and some higher rated diamond players.
