Default Fantasy dining rotation question

I am trying to figure out what night will be what so we can request a dining rotation. I think I'd prefer to be in Royal Court for the formal night. We are sailing the Western so it's the second night. So I'm thinking about requesting ERAERAE rotation; however, I'm a little confused on what I that would give us each night. Maybe I'm thinking way too much about this and maybe I shouldn't care so much and be trying to figure this out but I am. I've read that the first 3 nights are the individual restaurant menus then the last 4 are the same in each restaurant. Does anyone know which night is which? I've read that the pirate night is the 5th night. So far I think I've come up with it being night for the Prince & Princesses dinner, day 5 the Pirate dinner, day 6 the Captains Gala but what does that leave for day 7? And also if we eat in Animator's Palate for the Captains Gala does anyone know how that works if we get the special show (I've read they have a smaller menu for that night)? Or would we have the special show the first night we ate in there? I hope someone knows and make sense of this!!! Let me know if you have questions if I didn't explain clear enough. Thanks!!

On the western, if your itinerary is Port Canaveral, at Sea, Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel, at Sea, Castaway Cay (in that order), then the rotation choices are: RAERAAE (rotation one), AERAEER (rotation two), or ERAERRA (rotation three). Rotation three would put you in Royal Court on formal night (Sunday).

If you choose that last rotation (my favorite!), you should have the following - -

Sat. - Enchanted Garden, Continental Market menu
Sun. - Royal Court, French Dinner menu - Formal Night
Mon. - Animator's Palate, Pacific Rim cuisine - Crush show
Tue. - Enchanted Garden, Prince and Princess menu
Wed. - Royal Court, Pirates menu - Pirate night
Thu. - Royal Court, Captain's Gala menu - Semi-Formal Night
Fri. - Animator's Palate, See Ya Real Soon menu - Animation Magic show

Theatre show order (subject to change) on the western itinerary is:

Sat. - Fantasy Come True - welcome show
Sun. - Aladdin
Mon. - Variety/comedian/magic show
Tue. - Wishes
Wed. - Movie night in Walt Disney Theatre
Thu. - Disney's Believe
Fri. - An Unforgettable Journey - farewell show

The one restaurant I really never want to end up at on formal night is Animator's Palate. The first night at Animator's is the Crush (the turtle) interactive show. Crush and the "Dude!" conversation really doesn't go well with formal attire, in my opinion, and neither does the more casual decor of that restaurant. I'm one of those who DOES "dress for dinner" and formal and semi-formal nights. I really enjoy it because I rarely dress up at home. But for those who don't want to bother dressing up, Animator's would be a great place to be on formal night.

BTW - The dining rotations are different on the Eastern Caribbean itinerary. The one I posted is only for the WESTERN Caribbean.

I completely agree!! I love to dress up on cruises because I rarely get the chance to do so. Annimator's Palate seems fun but not for formal night. I love the pictures I've seen of Royal Court and it sounds like the perfect place to spend formal night. Now if I can just find a princess dress to fit an adult.

I wasn't sure if I should request a rotation but I would really prefer the 3rd one as well. We don't cruise until next Feb so I have plenty of time. I also love dressing up on cruises! Thank you so much for posting the rotations!

Talked to my TA who called Disney and the rotations were wrong. They said that the rotation that has Royal Court 3 times is RAERAER. That puts us in Animator's Palate on formal night so I'm sure what rotation I claim or if I'll just leave it to fate.

Well, I got off the Fantasy on May 5th and the rotations I listed were correct for the Western Caribbean sailings with the itinerary I listed in my post. The RAERAER sounds to me like a rotation from an EASTERN Caribbean itinerary. I'm not saying that's impossible, but if so then it has changed and I don't know why they would do that.

Is your TA a trained/certified "Disney Specialist" and DCL specialist? Just asking because IF she called DCL and asked what the dinner rotations were on the Fantasy but did not specify that particular itinerary and/or ended up with an inexperienced Cast Member who thought they were the same on all itineraries, then she could have received an incorrect answer. It happens. Otherwise, then unfortunately they must have changed in the last month.

I just looked at my own notations.

EASTERN Fantasy rotations:
1 - RAERAER
2 - AERAERA
3 - ERAERAE

WESTERN Fantasy rotations (as I posted):
1 - RAERAAE
2 - AERAEER
3 - ERAERRA

Are you on an Eastern or Western?

We are on Western and she is a Disney specialist. I will try to call Disney tomorrow myself and see if I can find out. Thanks for your help!

Thumbs up

I just called and selected the third dining rotation without any problems. The rotation is correct for the Western Caribbean. Thanks for the tip!

You are welcome! I KNEW the info I posted was correct, so that TA or DCL CM must have been confused and provided the Eastern info.

Happy sailing!

Called for myself and you were right, that rotation is correct! The rotation my TA had us requesting had Animator's Palate twice, the rotation I want the least. So I changed it. The Disney CM was very clear that this was just a request and that the rotations can change. I'll take my chances and hope it doesn't, if it does I'll address it once we are onboard. I also found out that our TA requested a 4 top table for the 3 of us, I don't have an issue with this but thought it was strange because I never asked for this. This is the first time I've used this TA, not sure I'm impressed.

Thank you so much for your help! I really appreciate it! The Disney CM started off saying to trust my TA, I told her I had a feeling the info I was getting from the boards was accurate and that my TA was wrong and wanted to double check. She was surprised when she looked. Guess she shouldn't always assume. Thanks again!

What was your least favorite menu other than the pirate night? Trying to decide on which night to schedule palo or remy. Thanks!

I'm glad to hear that and glad it worked out for you!

A 7-night cruise will always have Animator's twice (once for Crush show and once for Animation Magic show), but what you don't want is Animator's 3 times. This is why Western rotation #3 allows you Royal Court 3 times and puts you there (the most formal of the main dining rooms) on formal and semi-formal night.

BTW - I no longer work as a TA but am a College of Disney Knowledge trained Disney Specialist and my very first cruise was a very comprehensive Disney Cruise College onboard. I will do my 17th DCL cruise (Fantasy again) next May, so I try to stay on top of what's going on with them.

I'm just back from the 9 Jun Fantasy Western Caribbean cruise. (BTW, awesome doesn't begin to describe it!) We had Royal Court 3 times and our rotation was ERAERRA.

Yep! That is THE most awesome rotation for those who enjoy dressing up for formal and semi-formal evenings (and that's ME). Those who don't MIGHT enjoy Animator's more on those nights because the atmosphere/decor is more casual. Enchanted Garden is "in between."
