Car Rental Haifa - Akko

We are in port on a Saturday so i understand there is no public transportation available. Is renting a car a reasonable option? Parking, traffic, price etc.? We are 2 mature adults not used to using a lot of taxi service.

You would have to get to Ben Gurion airport to find a car rental business that is open on Saturday. You will not find one in Haifa.

It's only 16 miles e/w.

There will be taxis & vans at the pier. Negotiate a price before you board - expect to do a little friendly bartering, but if you think it's excessive, move on & negotiate with another. Pay when you get back. They'll accept euros, possibly USD.

I can't be too specific about the cost, but vaguely around 30 to 50 USD each way??
That's the cost of the vehicle, not per person.
Especially on a saturday, there's likely to be others on the pier willing to share.

So much cheaper & simpler than hiring a car, even if that's possible.

Are you talking about going to Acco (Acre) to see the Knights Templar fortress? If so and are taking a taxi, discuss where to meet after you tour the fortress. Most people end their tour with a walk through the underground escape tunnel that drops you off right at the water. It's pretty far away from the entrance to the Fortress.
