Default Also Travelling on Splendida 30th Sept

Hi Hamish

We are travelling on the Splendida on 30th September from Barcelona. I am travelling with my husband and 2 girls aged 12 and 16. Who is in your party? Are you planning any excursions, we wanted to do an excursion in Rome but were a bit worried whether the tour will be in English!!! Did look at a private tour but unless there are a few of you this works out expensive.
Where are you from, have you cruised before?
Regards
Beverley

Hi Beverley, Nice to receive a reply, I am from Sydney Australia, there will just be the 2 of us, my partner and myself, I have not really looked into the tours yet, but did not really even think about going into Rome, as there is so much to see there, with limited time and the port, I think is about a 1 hour train trip in to the centre of Rome, that would already be 2 hrs traveling. however we are very keen to do Tunis, Palermo and Civilavecchia, so I will have to do a little reading on each of the cities, where abouts are you from? have you been on this ship before? Hope to chat again soon, Regards
Paul from Sydney.

Hi Paul, we are from London. Have cruised before but never with MSC. Have you been before? We will probably do our own things in Tunis, Valetta etc as the cruise companies tend to charge quite a lot for excursions and think sometimes its better to do things by yourself! but as Rome is so far from the port and probably wont go there again feel that it will be an education for the kids. My husband went there years ago with the school and thinks that although there is a lot to see if you do a coach trip you will get a taste of what it is all about. I am not a huge fan of ruins or museums anyway so to see things from the outside suits me, at least I can then say I have been to Rome! Are you staying on in Europe as its such a long way to travel from Sidney for just 1 week?
