Default Question re booking Labadee excursions....

I wanted to book some excursions on Labadee-specifically the coaster ride and the water park area for my kids and myself. When booking on line, it asks what time you want for the activity. I am not sure what time to pick-are they really strict with holding you to the time slot?

I understand with things like the wave runner tour, but with the coaster and the water park? It is really hard to plan out the day-I was hoping that we could just book it and do it when we felt like it.

Does it make sense to book in advance or are these activities usually still available on that day to book on the spot?

Thanks!

Having been to Labadee 3 times we have done.

Zip Line
Coaster
Slide
Jet skis

We really enjoyed the Zip line, but, the experience lasts less than 2 min. and yes it was safe.
The coaster was good, got to do alot.
The slide was a waste of time and money.

Just did the jet skis and even though it was follow the leader, It moved. If you get behind someone slow they move you up in order. I was place last, yeah, middle aged mom with look of fear on face, and I still full throttle could not catch up to the one ahead of me. It was worth the money, and, was more than enough time.

Safe travels.

Thanks for your reply regarding your opinions on the excursions Sue-but do you have any feedback on the time slot question and if they hold you to it for the coaster and water park area?

Did you book them in advance or wait until you got there?

Ok
1. Water slide, come and go at your leisure, no wait.
2. We were early for the Zip line, and got moved up to the first group. I guess cause others were late.
3. When we did the coaster they did not care when you came, you just checked in at the desk, signed the waiver and got in line, saw the video on safety (yeah every time you ride the coaster you have to watch the video).
4. We were about 10 min late for our jet skis, and we got the "LOOK" so they put us in the next group. I dont know if there could have been an issue, so I guess you should be on time for the jet skis.

Those are the only excursions we ever did.

Jet skis are great!!

Safe travels

Also we always book our excursions in advance---
Especially if you want to do the zip line or jet skis, those fill up fast.
The slide and coaster will be no issue, you can book there and get right on the ride.

I would not let my 17 year old do the jet skis or zip line without us, we are a package deal.
If she wanted to do the slide or coaster........no problems, they are safe.

The jetskis are a "group" tour....you don't just rent and go off on your own, so being on time is important.
The other activities aren't so "time constrained".

We have the wave runner excursion booked on Allure in a few weeks. Can you go barefoot? Or do they require shoes? What do you experienced folks recommend? Thanks.

Hi Kim

I personally would wear water shoes.

Why? Well the walk to the wave runners is a wooden and concrete pavement. And in the Carribean sun it gets very hot.
You could easily burn the bottom of your feet, and the distance is too far to jump up and down (lol) or run fast to get there.
We wore our water shoes.
Also there is no where to leave them at the wave runner site, the lockers are in the building where the orientation is held.

Safe travels.

Thinking about doing this with my 10 year old son-how long do they make you stop at the locals who sell stuff and if you do not buy anything is it an issue?

My son is a bit timid and I don't want to put a damper on the day if it will be an issue.

Let me follow this up by saying that I have explained to my children how poor the people of Haiti are and how they make their money from the tourists and how desperately they need it. We donate to Haitian relief organizations rather than shopping with the locals in hopes that the money will end up in the right places..

We were probably there a long 5 min.

Put a couple dollars in your pocket, one of the men in a canoe will paddle by you, buy a small shell necklace and he will go away.
They seem to hover around those that do not buy.

It is sad how poor they are.
They do not intimidate you like the vendors in vendor area, which you can avoid.
But, it should not ruin his excursion.

We love Labadee, and always look forward to going there, so much to do!!!!

Safe travels.

Wow, I haven't been to Labadee before and did not realize that you would be followed (harassed?) by people begging while on your way to an excursion. At the ports, yes, but a private cruise port? Thanks for letting us know. We are traveling with some cruise newbies so I'll prepare them to "donate" or not.

Is this just along the route to the wave runners, or other areas as well? I was thinking about doing the coaster excursion.
