Good morning from Arizona everyone ! Just off the Splendor yesterday and I am going to begin working on my review. Please be patient as I am a new cruiser, figuring out the photo hosting sites for the first time as well.

I will say that this review expresses the opinions and experiences of myself and my family only. Take it with a grain of salt..as with all CC reviews. Some background - the cruise was my teenage daughter and myself. ( I turned 37 the day we embarked 9/23 )

We flew into LAX the morning of the cruise. ( We live in Phoenix so flying the day of embarkation is reasonable ) The supershuttle dropped us off at the Long Beach terminal...and we then took a cab to the local drug store to pick up a couple items that we couldn't fly with.

Once back at the terminal ( around 1130am ) we stood in some long lines. ( which we expected due to our early arrival) The lines were all in shaded areas and were not too bad.

After stopping for an embarkation picture or two.. ( With our favorite photographer Gillian - more on her later ) we were on board !

Finally here !!!

Our Cabin was ready when we got on board.. 9278 Lido Balcony. When we opened the door we found that it had been decorated for us at the request of some friends. we also had photo and drink coupons waiting as birthday presents. Also, friends had ordered us Carnival beach towels to take home..

Here is the bathroom...

I will say this.. there was plenty of shelf space for 2 women to fill with "necessities." We did not use the over the door shoe hanger that I bought...

Love the pics!! We're going on the Splendor next August. Looking forward to the rest of your review. Would love to hear about your DD experience in the teen rooms. I have a 15 year old DS.

Hi Mari -

DD did not use the "camps" at all... she prefers to be with me. ( She thinks that she is 37 also )

It's funny you said this. We were on the Glory recently and my DS was the same way. He didn't use the teen rooms at all and hung out with me the whole time. Guess us moms are still pretty cool to hang with. :D

We made it our mission to find the Splendor's Blessing Coin on our first day...

Our cake was delivered to the room on embarkation...

The Muster drill..

Totally necessary and informative... but I got a bit claustrophobic in the crowds while they made announcements looking for passengers who were unaccounted for...

After our Muster drill, our room Steward Wayan from Indonesia came and introduced himself. ( He also cut my zip tie that I had used to lock my luggage ! ) I have to say we had THE greatest steward ever. I had read that the stewards did not make beds...ours made them twice a day ( we always napped )... and was the master of towel animal surprises...
