Norwegian Epic Overall Fantastic! by georgal95
Background Information : I am a 43 yr old woman who traveled solo, staying in the studio cabins. This is my 4th cruise with NCL and my 6th total. Hotel Info (if any): I did not stay in a hotel. I flew down the day of and took the NCL airport transfer. Ship Info : The ship itself is huge yes... it has more than 4,000 passengers. The negatives: It is a downfall that there are few elevators and very long lines most times to get into them. Most times I just took the stairs. The casino was very poorly placed in the center of the ship and was full of smoke with tiny air purifiers which could never keep up with that kind of space. Many times you have to walk through there, and for a non smoker like me...it was kind of gross. I actually would have spent time gambling in there if they maybe had a non smoking night or something. But they didn't, so I just moved quickly through. The positives: There was a LOT of things to do! Most times I just had the buffet meal because I wanted to be able to do everything in the little 7 days I was onboard. Staterooms, Entertainment and Crew are top notch! The fitness center was very large with everything you could imagine! Continue reading... Friendly folks, fun & sun on Carnival Victory

Noordam Champagne Reefs and Suite Dreams by slabeaume
But we persisted and gave it another try. This time we did our longest cruise yet---11 nights and had almost perfect weather the whole time! Cruise day finally came ( Monday, Nov. 5th, 2012). I chose this cruise mainly because it went to St. Lucia. Not many cruises seem to go there and I've always been intrigued with the pictures I've seen of the Pitons. The cruise also included stops in St. Maarten, Barbados, Dominica, Martinique, St. Thomas, and Half Moon Cay. It was very port intensive, which I loved---6 port days in a row, another port later. Hubby is more of a sea day fan, but he held up pretty well. The first 3 days (Nov. 5-7) were sea days. We settled into our SS 8060 superior suite. It was on the port side and enjoyed the sunrises and port views the first 6 days, then sunsets the last 5. Not quite as big and didn't have the added benefits of the deluxe suite we had last year, but still pretty nice. Loved that the verandah even had a table and 2 chairs as well as 2 other chairs with ottomans. We were mid ship and on the 8th floor. Made it easy to just take the steps up to the Lido buffet for the many meals we ate there. Continue reading... Champagne Reefs and Suite Dreams

Allure of the Seas It was Alluring! by dandl1986
We needed a vacation! My husband and I both work at executive level jobs and we had been caring for my elderly mother who is an advanced stage Alzheimer's disease patient. We had not been on a vacation alone together since our children were born 21 years ago. We booked our vacation just days before we sailed and were nervous about the size of the ship, the number of passengers and summertime children's vacations, and the new ports we had not experienced. Our number one mission on this trip was to rest, relax, and destress. Reservations: We booked our trip online just a few days prior to sailing. We received free prepaid gratuities with our reservation. We got great service from the agents there and they answered many questions for us. I contacted RCI numerous times by chat to ask questions and got wonderful service from their help lines as well. We flew from Columbus to Ft. Lauderdale and stayed with family who took us to the port. Because we booked so late, I could not make any of our reservations until we actually boarded and I was really nervous about that. We booked cabin 9109 which was an inside cabin at the far aft of the ship. It was the only room that we had a choice of so it was that or nothing, so we took it. Continue reading... Carnival Victory Best Caribbean Cruise! by nancydrw
We loved this Carnival cruise! It was everything we hoped it would be. We chose it because we got to travel to San Juan PR and see beautiful Old San Juan before the cruise, and then set sail for five wonderful southern Caribbean ports. We were celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary, so we wanted it to be special and decided to spend three nights pre-cruise in San Juan at the historic El Convento Hotel. The hotel is an old convent converted into a 4 star hotel in the heart of Old San Juan. The hotel was everything we hoped it would be with great service, food and authentic charm. It was convenient to everything in Old San Juan, and we thoroughly enjoyed exploring the old city while enjoying the beauty and comfort of the hotel. San Juan Sunday: After three great days in San Juan we set sail Sunday night at 10:30 PM on the Carnival Victory for a fabulous, relaxing cruise. Sailaway was really memorable as we had a balcony cabin and we were able to enjoy the stunning views of San Juan Bay at night as we sailed away, sipping wine on the balcony and enjoying the warm breezes, city lights and ancient walls and fort of Old San Juan. Norwegian Pearl Relaxing Pearl! by deetravel
My Hubby, and I (previously sailed on the NL Dawn, and an RCI ship) took my 70 year old Mother in law on her first cruise, and our first vacation together. We had experienced a little stress the preceding 2 weeks, first with Hurricane Sandy, and then my husband being in the hospital, and actually canceled our original cruise on Nov 4th and re booked a week later on the Nov 11th sailing. We visited GSC, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. Miami: Arrived Miami via Delta from NY on Sat afternoon, and stayed at the JW Marquise; we got a really good rate via AAA, and an upgrade via Marriott Rewards to a fantastic Bay View corner room. This hotel is absolutely fantastic, and we would not hesitate to stay here again! We had 2 rooms one for myself, and my husband, and one for my Mother Inlaw. Spent the afternoon at the Bayside Market place, and had dinner back at the hotel. Continue reading... Relaxing Pearl!
