What is the Best Christmas Present You Ever Received?
This goes back many years ago. I think I was about 10 or 11 years old when I got my first transistor radio for Christmas. I thought it was so cool to lay in bed at night (during the Spring and Summer) with the earphone in my ear listening to whatever baseball game I could pick up. Sometimes it would be the Cleveland Indians, sometimes the Cincinnati Reds, or the Detroit Tigers. It didn't really matter. I just loved listening to the games. I don't think I ever stayed awake long enough to hear an entire game. Because of that little red radio, I fell in love with baseball.

My best gift came this year already - our daughter lives about 1500 miles from here and this will be her first Christmas home in 2 years - costs a bundle to fly, she was planning on staying a week. Her boss contacted her and asked if she was willing to extend her holiday here by another week and do some audits while she is here and they will pay her expenses (flight), rent her a car and pay a per diem. She doesn't have stupid written on her forehead - she jumped at it. I am so excited.
My best was my husband proposed to me on Christmas Eve with all the family around.
2nd best was a phone call on Christmas Day from a dear friend. He had surgery a week or so before and alomst died, but hearing his voice on the other end was more that I had ever dream of. Surprise to him, his son was having dinner with us that day.
My daughter! She was due December 16, and was a little late, arrived December 31!
