Default Coral Princess; Coffee Card where to you get the specialty coffees?

I used the search button (yeah available on this board ) and couldn't find the answer.

Since the Coral doesn't have an IC, where do you get the specialty coffees? I'm debating on buying the coffee card.

Thank you.

We were on the Island (which is a sister ship to the Coral). You could get specialty coffees in the coffee bar right where the Patisserie is on deck 5. Also a few of the bars had espresso machines enabling them to make some of the special coffee drinks. We have bought a coffee card on several cruises and enjoyed the specialty coffees very much. I have a card right now with a few punches left that we will use on our next cruise!

As said, the Patisserie in the Atrium of deck 5. You can also use it in the dining room at any meal.

Thank you for the responses. After reading how bad the brewed coffee was on board for some, I'm thinking this is the best option for my morning coffee.

First try the regular "free" coffee as some do find it quite acceptable.

Of course, many others find it vile.

In general, I've found that people who like Dunkin' Donuts are fine with the free coffee; those who prefer Starbucks tend to hate it. It's very subjective but that's my non-professional opinion. As I've gotten older, I drink tea.

Your description fits me to a tee. I hate Starbucks and I drink the free coffee.

LOL. And I am the opposite. I hate DD coffee; I'm a Starbucks girl. I'm also not crazy about Princess brewed. Therefore, I either get a double shot Americano or use Via.

Does Via come in the new Blonde Roast?

Don't know. I'm only interested in the bold coffee; Italian Roast.

Brewed coffee is in the "Patisserie" or "International Cafe", name depending on the ship. Some lounges also serve brewed coffee. The coffee in Horizon Court is syrup based.

At the International Café and some lounges:

Brewed coffee is $1.25/cup, most specialty coffees are $2.50-$2.75 for a regular size, espresso $1.75.

$33.35, including gratuity, buys a coffee card with fifteen punchouts for specialty coffees, and unlimited brewed coffee at the cafes and lounges that have brewed coffee. You can also use it in the dining rooms for specialty coffees. The server is directed to take two punch outs for double shot orders, some do, some don't.
Since the coffee card is for a discrete quantity it's not time limited. If there are punch outs remaining at the end of the cruise the card will carry over to the next cruise. The unlimited brewed coffee does not carry over.

If you are accustomed to good quality coffee, you definitely will want a coffee card. The vile concoction in the Horizon Court (buffet) is syrup based. Room service and dining room coffee are also syrup based. I must say the dining room coffee tastes a tad better. Maybe the kitchen staff cleans their machine.

Not that syrup-based coffee is always a bad thing. My hometown source, http://www.javacoffee.com/, informs me there are different grades for syrup coffee, as with ground coffee. Regardless of grade, the taste of syrup based is always going to be somewhat inferior to an equivalent grade of ground. Based on flavor, Princess must use the lowest grade (cheapest) available.

You'll find brewed coffee from grounds at some lounges, and in the International Cafe. Not all ships have the Int'l Cafe. They do, however, have a Coffee Bar for regular and specialty coffees.

I think since there's talk of reconfiguring the casino, that's where this rumor is getting it's fuel.

The casino is not really that large, with the alternate opening at the center and the jewelry store right there too. I can't believe they would take away money making space in order to put in a freebie spot.

You know, if Princess would update their drydock process on the website, we'd all know for sure.

I went on the roll call for the next Coral trip, and asked them to do a "Live From" to let us know.

I suspect once the drydock is completed Princess will issue a press release if there were any significant changes to the ship.
