Default West Bank Restaurant?

Got our great parksleepfly.com reservation at LaQuinta for 79.00 with free parking! But we will be getting in kind of late the night b4 the cruise, any suggestions on nearby westbank place to eat some yummy local food? TIA!

You might try Copeland's on the West bank.

Most places close around ten so you should'nt have a problem. I'll check for some more places tomorrow.

Oakwood Mall is right behind the hotle. There is a Canon's resturant that is quite good. The popcorn shrimp salad is terrific.

I agree with Dan. I don't know where you live, but if you haven't heard of Copeland's....you gotta try it! Great place for N.O. food. (Locally owned, several locations around the city!) The food is very, very good. They make goooood drinks, too.

The food is much better at Copeland's than the tacky architecture might suggest.

I used to really like Visko's on that side of the creek, but haven't been there in lots of years, so ? Still looks like it might be popular.

VISKO'S RESTAURANT
516 Gretna Blvd., Gretna 366-1516 Classic Visko's dishes still exist like the Seafood Saint Vincent (fish sauteed in a buttery seafood stock, topped with shrimp and crabmeat), but diners are lining up for the newcomer, charbroiled oysters. Reservations recommended for parties of eight or more. Lunch Mon.-Fri., dinner Mon.-Sat. Credit cards. $$

I see they mention charbroiled oysters, so another restaurant that has borrowed them from Drago's (where they are to die for).

The West Bank is not really part of New Orleans. It is made of a few small cities sort of clustered together. The LaQuinta area is not bad and is near the Expressway for easy access to NOLA.
