Default Breakaway spa pass prices

Just got off the phone w/ NCL rep who quoted $39/day pp, or $146 pp for 7 day spa pass on the Breakaway, and that there are no longer couples spa passes at a discount. Since I get conflicting info everytime I call the 800 number, thought I would ask here if anyone knows if this info is published anywhere on NCL website.

$300 for a couple for 7 days is just absurd. I know the $39 pp is correct - well, that's what it was on the Epic.

It not really ridiculous if you think the 39pp\pd is reasonable. 39 * 7 = 273. So it's almost get the 2nd person free.

For me, $39pp is unreasonable, so it is ridiculous, taking into account that the spa passes I purchased in the recent past were $119pp for 7 days, or discounted if a couples pass was purchased for a few dollars more. Also, need to take into account that, if I recall correctly, getting a treatment did not include use of the facilities. However, the descriptions of the spa facilities make the spa seem fabulous. It used to be a no-brainer, but now have to really give it some thought.

Agreed - it's unreasonable all around.

Will the Breakaway be able to purchase spa appointments prior to boarding (for instance 45 days out)? Can you also purchase spa passes prior to boarding?
Thank you.

Default is there a list of the prices for treatments?

Do you need a spa pass if you just want to go one day for a massage or something?

Will they have a list of prices? Trying to decide if I want to schedule a massage at home the day before I leave or wait till on board. I WILL get a massage!!!!

I'd like to know this also. In the past we couldn't buy spa passes in advance. Also how many passes they offer per sailing? Usually they limit it to 60 couples or so.

Sorry to say, but I am one of those that will pay almost anything for the daily spa pass - I have muscle/pain issues

But I hope the price keeps scaring everyone else away

The difference per person for a spa balcony and a regular balcony for my cruise is $200 a person so I would see $146 as a discount but that just me. I am curious how many they sell in addition to all the cabins that get the perks.

Exactly right. It's all marketing.

On the subject of price, they have to pay for the ship somehow. With the boat in port for three days the casino and shops will be closed. That is a lot of profit lost.

Same here. Plus I want to see pictures posted first. Part of the allure of the Spa on the Epic was the aft location and the view...

That may be the case on some sailings, but on our Thanksgiving cruise on the Epic last year, my brother-in-law tried to buy the weekly spa pass on the morning of the first sea day and was told they were sold out. They said he could still buy a day pass on the port days.

Whether something is worth it (or "absurd" or "unreasonable") is a matter of personal opinion and individual perceived value. While some might not think it is worth it, we definitely do and always buy the weekly spa pass. We love the heated tile loungers, jetted pools (with the recliner bubbly area!), saunas, hot tubs, and are really looking forward to trying the salt room on the Breakaway. And it's adults-only, so during those times when the main pool deck is over-crowded or the Haven Courtyard has a high kid-quotient and we're feeling like a little quiet time or kid-free time, we can just head down to the spa to get away. Win-win!

I'll be paying too and trying to get them as soon as I get on the ship. I considered doing the mini spa suite but the cost is $700 more than our room now so its cheaper to just get the weekly passes.

Wow, that is ridiculous! I am cruising the week after you, and the difference b/t a regular balcony and spa balcony on my ship is only like $63pp. That was the whole reason I got the spa balcony!

I wonder how much a spa pass is for a 12-day cruise~~I am in a studio for a solo cruiser and would like one! I know I bought one before I boarded the ship on the Gem in 2011!
