Default When??? It must be soon

I am so missing the planning/ taking of a cruise.

When can we expect Costa to offer itineraries for 2014- hoping to sail Sept/ Oct 2014. Would like Asia but am getting to the stage that we will probably go further afield as I just really want to cruise again. I seem to think in past years it has been about this time April that things were released??

Tanja, Costa fuuture schedules / catalogues always used to come out at the end of Febuary, since the sad Concordia event it has gotten later. Most of the 2014/2015 cruises are online now for several weeks, with the exception of Victoria / Atlantica in the Far East.

Last I heard was that the catalogue should be out by the end of April (Costa stilll has a week to go).

Thanks Ron.

It would seem that the Costa sites in English (Australia, UK and USA) have not been updated past April 2014.

I have fiddled on the German site using a translator and can see cruises up to 2015. But my German is limited to 'Prost' so not a lot of help.

Well at least you have your priorities in Prost.

If you arelooking for something inparticular, ship, ports, dates etc. let me know and I'll have a look on the German site.

Thanks Ron,

Not really sure what I want- 2 weeks in Asia either a single cruise or a B2B of 7 each. No real preference on ports or ships. Either September, October or Early Nov 2014.- SE Asia in preference to Japan or China.

Maybe just a shout out when the Asian itenaries are posted on the German site.

I am only guessing but I think Costa are moving to a more Asian orientated market- short 3 days cruises etc..

Hey Liz,

I think that is exactly what they are going to do. Our last cruise on the Classica was sold to us as a 14 day cruise. The first part was quite empty. The second half when we returned to Singapore for a day many locals came aboard- and yep gambling was the main form of attraction- at least for the men of the cruise or so it would seem.

On our way to from our cabin- I was surprised to see many open cabin doors- these rooms were full to the brink of gamblers. I was surprised at just how many people could cram into a cabin!

No good for us but I can see where they are going with these Asian cruises. They seem to be selling them now as short 3 or 4 day options that can be added to 7 if needed.

They do not seem to be going to either Hong Kong (my guess is that to HK nationals Macau is too close to need a a gambling cruise) and have dropped Bangkok from the ports as well- no need to overnight when the clientèle are only interested in gambling away the days. It also seems that Phuket is just a day visit now and not overnight.

I really noticed the reduced numbers of European, British and Australian passengers when compared to my earlier trips.

Default Costa's eastern ventures...

Sad but true...
Having ventured East with Victoria, Costa's taking the Atlantica East also...
Short trips of 3-4 days and B2B of 7...
Home porting in Singapore, Shanghai, Beijing...
Their itenaries show only up to October, thereafter depends on the "profitability" of the routes...

Even Royal Carribean is "re-doing" the Mariner of the Seas enroute from Dubai to Singapore (converting the lounges, bars, nightspots into casino, shops)!!!
