Did you have a wonderful time? We will be leaving on June 8th and can't wait. How was the food and entertainment? Did you have any children in Camp Carnival? We have two daughters 6 and 9. They are very excited. Only 6 more days to go...

My wife and I had a great time. Although I did not use the servise camp carrnival was up and rrunning. Food was good as always but we did not spend much time in the dining room. My wife and I chose to to eat on the Lido deck. We came to alaska to see alaska. Sorry I can not help with the show we only saw one. We spent most of our time looking at the great scenery and looking for wildlife. We did not fly early, big mistake. For the first time we went through carnival and we did not arrive at the ship until 8:30pm. The next time I will handle the air part.

How did the disembark go in Vancouver? Did you use US Direct? What time did they start letting people off the ship? How long did customs take at the airport?

Did you take any excursions? Did you see whales? How was the naturalist?

How was your Cruise Director Michael Mullane???

I had him on the May 11-18, 2005 sailing in alaska and he was just awful according to the reviews everyone felt the same during the week I went, but I heard the week after he was good and then not so good.... Am wondering ifhe has and on week and an off week??

Disembarkation went smooth. We started at 8:00am. I had a direct flight out using carnival transfer. All of your luggage was loaded directly from the ship to the bus you never touched it until the bus arrived at the airport. We went through Canadian customs first then after a very long line at Delta we went through US customes which I thought was strange, but we did not have to go through us customes once we landed. Customes went smoothly. I took three excursions. Whale watching with Orka enterprises( captain LARRY) Glacier trek with North Star. Float plane sightseeing over Misty Fjorge and I rented a car in Skagway. I thought all the excursions were worth the price. I booked them private ad I figures that I saved about 10% by not booking through the ship. There was a naturalist on the ship. she gave an excelent whale presentation. I hope this helps you

I did not care for Micheal and neither did my wife. It didn't seem like he clicked with the crowd. I have cruissed over 10 times and I would rate him near the bottom.

Well he's on the bottom of my list..

The week after I went everyone said they loved him and the week after no one did.. I guess the guy just really has some really up and down weeks.

However, his assistant CALVIN was awesome... He was great and hysterical...

Hi! This will be my first cruise on a Carnival ship with a "supper club". I know we have to book on the ship, but does anyone know the dress code? I got the impression that it was formal. (!) Sorry to hear about the cruise director. I hope he's better on our cruise. I've heard good things about the naturalist on this ship. I'm looking forward to her presentations.

I was on the May 18-25 sailing and I loved Michael....Just for a poll if you aren't offended how old are you guys that are saying you didn't like him?

I really dont see what age has to do with it, but I am old enough to drink legally. lol

However, being on the cruise ship you should know the age groups on there.. LOL...

If you look up the reviews for the week of May 11-18, 2005 most people which I met who where 40 (+) said the same things about him.

Well let me say I am 24 and my husband is 28 and we had a blast even though we were probably the only ones under 40 on the whole boat...I ask about your age because it seems like every older person on the boat was complaining about absolutely everything.... I think thats sad. I know you spend money and want to have a great time on your vacation but don't take things so seriously...the food was fabulous..the shows were excellent and the scenery was the best ever!

I cruised with Micheal Mullane and his wife 3 times now, and I score him pretty high up with the rest of the Cruise Directors I have sailed with. Micheal Mullane is a great person, one that doesnt hide from the people, you can hang out with him at the Casinos Bar almost every night where you can sit there and chat with him till the wee hours about cruise stuff etc.

This is one reason why I will wait till Im much older to sail on Princess, Im 41 and my wife is somewhere around 30ish, This last cruise we sat with some 70 something folks at dinner and we had a blast with them, Depends on the Cruiseline, Im finding that the Older Folks that sail on Carnival are younger at heart. :)

Well I am 22...

I am glad you all had such a great time with Michael and his wife...Like I said before he was not seen in our cruise.. I guess it was because I was on the first alaska cruise...

Hes on the bottom of my list.. ;) Oh well....

Anyway, I can say his assistant CALVIN was great, was always talking to the passengers, at ALL the shows, and I spoke to him at the club and even danced with him, he is soooo funny!!!!!!!!! I think if you click on the link on my signature there is a picture of him on the stage doing a "one man show" ... it was hysterical....!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

I can say the rest of his assistants didnt really stand out and that is a shame..

yes i was on the may 11-18 cruise. i am 55 and i agree with bsan that he is lacking in the arrainging good entertainment of the cruise. i went on the same ship to the glacier bay in sept of 2003 and our cd was todd ( i forget his last name ). he was a wonderful cd and there was always fun things going on and stage participation all the time. this trip im glad i did not realy on the stage to keep me entertained. maybe it is just because it was his first alaskan cruise , as was mentioned above, but he did not impress me at all. besides that it was a fantastic cruise and i cant wait to go again.

how was the weather??? We are sailing July 6th. After all these years of warm Caribbean cruises... I don't know how to pack????

We are going to have Shawn Bussey as our CD when we go. She was our CD last October on the Sensation. Hopefully, Terrence will be there (Social Host) as well. They are supposedly transferring in sometime in June.

our weather was great. i only wore a sweatshirt and my friend had on short sleeves and no jacket the whole time. in july all you will need are shorts and tanks. regular summer weather there also. but be prepared for the bugs. take a good repellant with you and sun-screen. i hope your cd is a good one. that is the only thing this time that was lacking with the carnival spirit--micheal the cd. he had no imagination for entertainment or activities and we only saw him 2 times. have a great time.
