Breakaway - Reservations for shows

Hi All, Can someone clarify the reservations for shows? I've read through many posts that they book reservations for shows prior to cruise including cirque and the free shows. Other posts say reservations aren't required. I went on ncl today to book the cirque show and it states only one show per person per cruise can be reserved. I am sailing early July and wonder which show is the priority to reserve? I've heard the comedy show (can't remember the name ... city something) should be reserved. I wasn't originally planning to reserve anything but wonder if we will have difficulty seeing any of the shows because we didn't reserve in advance. Thanks!

Hi..sailing on July 5th and booked everything we knew we wanted to do. There went spontaneous. We booked two specialty restaurants and three shows..Cirque Dreams, Burn the Floor and Rock of Ages. I was told by one rep to book and another time I was told to do it once on board. Not wanting to take the change of "sold out" we decided to book ahead.

I thought the comment about reserving only one show per cruise meant only one of each show.

Reservations are not required, but highly recommended. If you do not have a reservation, you can get in line as a standby. About 10 minutes before show time, they will allow those in the standby group to enter if there are any available seats. But, the odds are if you do get into the show, the seats will not be the best.

The comedy show is Second City which is an improv group doing skits.

I would make reservations to be sure you can get in the shows. Once on board, you can change them, if there is availability.

Anyone know if you have the ability to make reservations for shows on the Dawn?

I didn't see the comedy show as an option for reservations. I'm sailing 7/26, is it too early, or do you reserve on board for that show?

we reserved the comedy/improv shows once we got on the ship, I don't think you have the option to reserve this before the cruise. Availability will be there as the comedy club is large so just book it once you get on the ship, no worries.

I booked burn the floor and rock of ages a few months in advance b/c it was free and you can do it right through NCL.com

When are you sailing on the Dawn ? You might want to check with the folks on the Roll Call and/or those sailing just prior to your sail date ... it's mind boggling to keep up with the changes.

But, generally speaking, with the Dawn & similar Jewel class (smaller, non-*AWAY ships in the fleet) - no reservations are taken for the big shows in the main theater, there is usually enough seating for almost everyone (early & late shows on some days) If you are in a full suite or above category, i.e. Haven - the concierge will have reserved seating/section, generally on the upper theater marked, and will even escort you as desired.

Cruising on the Breakaway in Sept 2015. How far in advance can you book the shows. Also what shows should be booked ahead?
