Default St. Barth's Ferry Question

Can anyone please tell me if you have taken a ferry from St. Maartin to St. Barths. The excursion though the ship would be approx. $300+ for a family of 4 and wondered if it could be done on our own.
Thanks.

That rate really doesn't sound too bad for four.

You might be able to do it cheaper on your own, but the problem with cruisers going over to St. Barths is usually the schedule -- can you get over and back in time on your own? And what if the ferry is late?

I suspect that the cruise lines have a charter(s) set up to conform to their port times.

That said, I really can't recommend leaving the island for any of its neighbors unless you have visited St. Maarten a few times to enjoy all that it has to offer.

If you decide to go, here's a St. Barths resource.
