lesleyfb Posted June 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Using the link below it seems to me that P&O are the most flexible about taking alcohol onboard to drink in your cabin. Looks like P&O will be getting my business from now on. http://www.cruisecritic.com/tips/tipsarticle.cfm?ID=
ahracer Posted June 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Are you aware that on Princess you can purchase most liquors from room service cheaper than you can buy it at home?? Scott
akcruiser Posted June 9, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Can you explain more? Do you order the bottle of liquor from room service? And it is cheaper than bringing it yourself. That is good to know!
ahracer Posted June 9, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2004 You have three options ; 1. You can order it in advance from Princess and it will be waiting for you in your cabin. The form and price list are on their web site. 2. You can just call room service and have it delivered. 3. Each ship has a bar, usually one of the lobby ones where you can buy a bottle. Yes, the prices are usually less that what you'd pay at home. Keep in mind the selection isn't as vast as your local liqour store but tehy have the basics. I'm a vodka drinker and prices are much lower than I can purchase at home. Go to the web site and look at the price list to see if they have what you are looking for and how the price compares. randolph Posted June 9, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 9, 2004 I had no idea you could pre-order bottles of liquor for yourself. While there is a price difference to bringing your own, it now seems to me not to be worth the effort to smuggle it on board. It will free up some precious luggage space. Thanks for the info. tory707 Posted June 9, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 9, 2004 Do't know how old that update is but P&O and Princess have different guidelines. The one listed from Princess is not current. If you received your Pre-cruise docs it states that you can bring Wine & champagne on board. It does not give any limits! I'm bringing a case myself (12 bottles) for dinner & balcony consumption between two rooms. Also going to try & bring on some beer & order vodka through Princess since it already cheap!
