Default Info please Magna Grecia Hotel Athens

Has anyone stayed at this small hotel in Greece? Looks very nice and is well reviewed on Trip Advisor but I don't see it in any guide books.

Also I can't find a website for this hotel and when I "googled" it came up with www.athens-greece.us which must be an agency. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with this agency.

Thanks so much for any information.

I have booked with them for mid September - I saw the reviews on Trip Advisor and decided to book, but then tried to reserve a room for our return home - and they were booked out!

When are you travelling - I can let you know when I return at the begining of October?

Their website is http://www.magnagreciahotel.com/hotel.php

Cheers!

Thanks so much for the offer to let us know when you return in October.

We're not travelling until next April (our cruise departs April 27th) but I though I'd book early as it is such a small place.

I'm going to go ahead and book and can always cancel if it doesn't meet your expectations!

Thanks again, I really appreciate your help.

Hi "Lifespeachy"

Hoping I can raise you (or anyone with info).

We contacted the Magna Grecia by e-mail twice but, so far, no reply. Wondering whether you booked via e-mail, fax, telephone or through an agency. It woyld be a help to know whether we should wait longer or try a different method of contacting them.

Thanks.

Hello ~
We are booked at this hotel for October after our HAl Cruise. I also found it on Trip Advisor....but I decided to contact the owner/manager Stelios Ioannidis, myself. It took a few days, but he did reply. I phoned Athens (AHH!!!) and talked to the owner. He was very friendly and helpful. Hope you have better luck. Try this email: magnahtl@otenet.gr or this newer web site: www.magnagraciahotel.com/hotel.php

Trip Advisor is great.....also try Venere.com for accommodations in Europe. Please let me know how you make out.

Hi RTLS

The email I have been using is info@magnagreciahotel.com
I did it a while ago but from memory i did book it via the website. They did take a few days to get back to me...so try to be patient. (Not something that I am good at when planning my dream holiday!)

I will say that it books up pretty quickly, so I recommend that you book it if you are keen and not wait until I get back from my holiday!

Have fun!

Thanks you both very much for the reply.

I finally got a reply from my second e-mail (with an apology about the delay due, apparantly, to some internet problems!)

In any case, I'm pleased to report that we are now booked.

Thanks again.

Default Magna Grecia internet problems!

Funny thats what they said to me to about the delay - "internet problems" I booked about 6 weeks ago - you would think that they would have fixed them by now!

We should be OK so long as it's just "internet problems" that they have!

I'll look forward to your report. Thanks

Default Back from Magna Grecia

Hi All

Well we are back from the trip of a lifetime!

Magna Grecia certainly lived up to our expectations!

We had a room on the first floor with an Acropolis view (amazing!) The area it is located in, is by far the best - it is the most atmostpheric. (We did stay in another area of Athens, which was quite revolting compared to the Placa)

It is across the road from a church which has a bell ringer - on the half and on the hour. So if you are the type of person to be bothered by this, then it could be a problem... take ear plugs?

Our room was big, we did have a choice when we got there - and we chose the bigger room as oppose to the room on the second floor with the better view of the Acropolis.

The breakfast was fine - not the best but not the worst either.

I would definately stay here again!

Oh we went to fantastic restaurant on the first night just a couple of blocks away. Psari or something? Ask Maria when you get there for a good restaurant and she will reccommend it.

Have fun in this amazing city!

Cheers

Lifes Peachy

Thanks so much for the review. We're now really excited about staying there next Spring.

We"ll ask "Maria" to confirm the name of the restaurant and look forward to dining there.
