Default Crown Princess Incident

We posted this and it got eaten. Briefly. We had an incident and a bad list. There is water in the interior of the ship and people are injured. We are headed back to Port Canaveral.

I wish I had all the post Carol and I made, it was good.

1. This really happened.
2. We are not exaggerating.

We will post updates as they happened. The gift shops were destroyed.

Are the injuries minor or have people suffered serious injuries?

What? This is extremely upsetting.....
Why are people injured? From pannick attacks and not handling a bad situation?

What do you mean -

You have to tell more. You don't seem to be one that would be pulling our legs.

I am so angry that our first effort was lost. I'll try to remember everything that I just wrote.

We started to feel a slight lean, and I reassured Nancy that it was ok, then the slight lean became a sharp list, with a huge arc in the wake. Our nautical expert, Alan, says that it was at least a 12 degree list.

Deborah, also one of our CC group, was IN AN ELEVATOR when it happened. She's still shaking. CaroleLee was naked on a massage table in the Lotus Spa. As the ship listed, the equipment table next to her went sliding, and her table traveled about 15 feet across the corridor into a treatment room across the way. All of the Lotus Spa Pool is now in the Lotus Spa.

All of the pools are pouring down the aft staircase and aft elevator shafts.

We have now turned and are returning to Port Canaveral.

The contents of the gift shops are all over the floors, mostly smashed. The contents of the bars are on the floors, and equipment is leaning or fallen.

There is broken glass everywhere and many people are injured. There are children crying, and some passengers were handed life jackets by crew members.

This just made them more upset.

I see people limping, bloody feet and other cuts. Most of the people that we knw have wandered by and we know that they're ok. We are sitting outside the Explorers Bar.

More later.

Carol

Post 7 was me, Carol - I just didn't sign on as me.

This is very very real. We have turned back to Port Canaveral because of injured people. We have NO IDEA what they will do with us there: make us get off, or what.

If YOU guys could see if anything hits the news.........

Staff members are walking around trying to see if anyone needs a hug. Lots of people are still crying, and this happened an hour ago exactly.

I have been googling and checking every website I can think of for any news. There appears to be nothing as yet.

If you guys need for me to make any calls for you please post and let me know. I would be happy to do so. Or email me at kim@i-travelagent.com.

Anything I can do from here I am happy to do.

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. There is nothing more terrifying than being out at sea on a cruise ship when a tragedy strikes. Try and breathe deeply and know that Princess will get you to land safely, it will just seem like it takes forever but you will get there.

Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Please take care of yourselves.

Nancy and Carol,

Please let us know what happened as soon as you can. In the meantime, our thoughts are with you and we all hope for your quick and safe return home. We're anxiously waiting to hear from you! If we hear anything on this end, we'll be sure to let you know as well.

Regarding injuries. People are badly injured. They called, "Alpha, Alpha, Alpha." They have closed the medical center to all but serious injuries and opened a satalite medical center. Carol is posting under my name, so it's not all just me posting.

We have no idea what will happen. There is glass everywhere. Some people were hit by TV's falling off the shelves. There are some very severe cuts that I personally saw. The crew is very busy and people are panicing in life vests. Carol says some crew paniced and handed out life vests. They did not call the muster drill.

Did I say Titanic is the MUTS movie tonight? That's some irony for you.

I am going to try to call my husband before this hits the news, but my cell phone does not get service. I am afraid to post his work number, but I almost want to.

Same here. I was lucky enough to have a cell phone that finally worked once we got to Jamaica and could call one person to have them call others and let them know that we were okay on the Star.

If anyone needs me to send any emails or to place any phone calls I am here.

You can email me a list and I'll be happy to help.

Any news on the cause of the list?

Take care!!

Thank God you and Nancy and others are o.k. for now. Any idea what made the ship list? Rough seas? ER turn in the ocean?

Our prayers are with all of you on the ship.
