I am currently looking at prices with various TA's to book a Princess cruise. It seems that several are pushing the on-board coupon book as an incentive.

What does this coupon book contain and would you consider it an incentive.

No its not a good incentive. It's mostly discounts on items. I don't recall any "freebies". Two of the coupons we found useful. The ice cream - buy one get one free at the "Scoop"- loved the ice cream sundaes and the internet coupons. It gave us $5.00 off when we reached $10.00 in charges. Came in handy.

If pricing is equal among several agencies, we look at who is giving OBC's (on board credit).

The Passport to savings book that is left in the cabin onboard is in my opinion not worth the paper it is printed on.

Some T/A's will put together there own coupon books but you pay for it one way or the other.

I agree with Julia. We had 2 coupon books and used 1 coupon, for ice cream. I would never book based on someone giving me a coupon book.

Last year they had buy one get one free drinks, but this year that was gone. We didn't use anything from the book. The only thing that might be useful was the internet coupon

There is a $5.00 match play for use in the Casino. That could make it worth $5.00 or it could actually cost you $5.00 if you loose.

Mom I can save you some time I hope. Princess has the same pricing for everyone. The only way pricing is different is if your agent has a group. That pricing will be lower and possibly have a shipboard credit for each guest. Having said that I would consider using a knowledgable agent that you can rely on. Most large cruise specialist consortiums have groups on every sailing usually so you will get the best rates from them. Happy sailing!
