Hello if watching MUTS. or having a drink in one of the bars or lounges and feeling hungry go and order one or two whole pizzas and bring it back with you to MUTS or bars. Saw a group do this on last Cruise . Smart idea

So.... reading through this thread, saw this...and all i can think after i stopped laughing was...this is how a cruise ship filled with zombies took down planet earth...

I thought there were no more free drinks at the Captain's reception either, so I was shocked when I saw it on the schedule for my 3-day cruise on the Inspiration two weeks ago. There really were free drinks!

But I never found any information about the Fun Farewell Party....so maybe the captain's party replaced it for that cruise. I have been doing mainly 7 days in recent years, so maybe things are done differently on the shorter cruises. I definitely enjoy those Fun Farewell parties that have so fedw people in attendance on my longer cruises. Cheers!

It's "advice" like that that could lead to problems whether a virus or other cause. Understand the specific situation there, but that heads up could be dangerous in another situation (or to the entire ship in some cases).

Yes Little Miss, but your two recent cruises were both on 7 day long journeys...so they did not have the free drinks at the Captain's Reception Party
It's OK, alcohol fogs the memory....just like there are many cruisers out there that can't remember a thing from college in the seventies because of what they smoked

Hey....a lot of times people do get sick but for the most part its just sea sickness I would hate to just have sea sickness and be quarantined, my advice you can go to the ship infirmary or to a doc at port, but I was just giving a warning as to what can happen. I would hate to see someone go on their first cruise and spend half of the cruise in their room.

Hi: I'm trying to understand the cabin categories Carnival uses. Is there a description of them anywhere. Are they different from ship to ship?

I see IS and 1A

My understanding is that Category 1A is an Upper/Lower with/or without a Porthole.

Can anyone tell me what kind of cabin an IS is?

As is mentioned on that thread, officially, Category 1A is Upper / Lower. However, some of the rooms actually have a twin bed plus a sofa bed (both lower beds). And some actually have the standard 2 twins that can be converted into a king. And some of the rooms do have a porthole, and a very small number actually have 2 picture windows.

IS is an Inside Guarantee. It is not a specific category. If you choose that, you don't get to pick your room, but Carnival guarantees that you'll get an inside room or better.

They don't heavily advertise the farewell i.e. free drinks and appetizers party that much. There is a brief blurb about it (at least in the first day's caper from my in laws cruise on legend in october). There is also a past guest party (free drinks)
