fgalu Posted July 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2004 does anyone know what the new restrictions/requirements are for RCCL? you used to be able to bring a bottle of wine/champagne per person for special occasions, somewhere I read that you now have to have written permission from RCCL to bring it as a carry one...any ideas? or recent findings??? tightly_interfaced Posted July 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2004 I asked a similar question of RC's customer service. I received the following response (Judging from other threads, I'm not sure how actively they police this policy): *********************** Bringing Beverages onboard: We do not allow guests to bring their own beverages onboard. This includes: liquor, wine, beer, soda, or self produced products (example: home made wines). An exception to the rule is: For guests who have a unique request for wine (only), and is not listed in the wine list below, Royal Caribbean will allow a maximum of two bottles of wine. A corkage fee of $12.00 per bottle will be charged. We do not allow more than two bottles. We do not provide authorization or documentation. [i'll have to post the wine list in one or more additional posts - exceeds the 10000 character limit for posts] Thank you for choosing Royal Caribbean International. MikeandLorraine Posted July 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted July 14, 2004 We were on the Grandeur on May 31. We brought three bottles of wine, wrapped in bubble wrap and in our checked luggage. We had no problems. Two nights we brought bottles to dinner. One night we were charged the $12 corkage fee. The other night we weren't charged anything. I think they look the other way unless you're trying to bring cases on board.
Kat1613 Posted July 14, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 14, 2004 Our cruise documents just say "RCI retains the right to limit or refuse alcholic beverages to be bought on board." The key word there is limit- if you bring a bottle in your carryon, they usually don't say anything.
cruisecrasy Posted July 14, 2004 #8 Share Posted July 14, 2004 Does anyone know if they have diet Pepsi or Seven-up onboard as that is all I like? Don't understand how they can refuse to let u bring soda onboard if they don't have it available? Thanks in advance & happy cruisin' all :-)

drarill Posted July 14, 2004 #10 Share Posted July 14, 2004 Hi My husband gave $50 to our server the first night and $30 to his assist. and they didnt charge us the corkage fee during the whole cruise and he brought at least five bottles of wine. At the end of the week they got their tip and some extra for their excellent service. Lydia
fgalu Posted July 14, 2004 Author #11 Share Posted July 14, 2004 that's a great idea Lydia, there are six of us traveling together, so I'm sure we'll all need something a little extra special along the way, tipping ahead sounds like a good idea. I've always brought a couple of bottles in my carryon but seems that there is a lot of attention to this since our cruise last year, oh well I guess they will have to go thru my luggage
FinelyCruising Posted July 15, 2004 #12 Share Posted July 15, 2004 Thanks so much for posting the wine list. It looks like the Mondavi Napa Chardonnay is off. It was on in March and not too bad. I have, as we speak, bubble wrapped two bottles of Grgish Hills Chardonnay, which is on NCL's wine list but not RCI's. Since it's on my wine list I guess it's OK to bring it. ;)
