Will the NCL Dawn still leave from the Manhattan terminal in 2008 or move to Brooklyn? I also need hotel suggestions. Thanks.

The only lines going out of Brooklyn are Princess and Cunard.
NCL still goes out of Manhattan. There are quite a few threads with hotel suggestions here. What is your budget?

NCL has promised that it might use Brooklyn in the future. Manhattan is being renovated and will end up with only 3 berths- it has 5 now. NY City has purchased two additional piers in Brooklyn to possibly convert to cruise ships BUT the promised jobs at the Red Hook pier have not materialized and there is some controvesy on spending more money on the Brooklyn Piers. Today NCL is not scheduled to be in Brooklyn in 2008 but I wouldn't bet against 2009 or 10.

Thanks.
A friend of mine is looking at a Norweigan cruise out of NYC next summer. I told her that the sailaway from Manhattan was amazing, passing the Statue of Liberty and going under the Verrazano Bridge. Then I thought that maybe they would be leaving from Brooklyn instead. As for hotels, she is on a limited budget and has saved a long time for this cruise. |
