Default Freedom Europe 2009 Sailings Cancelled
Hot off the presses. All Freedom Europe 2009 sailings have been cancelled, and the Freedom will now be sailing out of Ft. Lauderdale doing 6 and 8 day Carribean cruises.

Looking at the letter that's going to be sent out, it does not give a reason. But I'm with the other poster. I think it may be a fuel/air cost issue.

I am just happy that our cruise to Europe is still a go. I can't even imagine how the pax think of their cruise being canceled. I just booked all of our excursions this morning and since April, most of them have gone up at least $10.00.

Yes, but Im talking about several posters in the last couple of weeks that said carnival would either park ships or send them over to Europe because of fuel costs.

Im betting Uncle Bob is glad he got out when he did. Uncle Gerry is going to have to make some tough choices in the coming years.

The expense of moving a ship the size of the Freedom across the Atlantic might be a factor. Plus, they have to be able to produce a good product at a reasonable cost to the passenger. (IMO)

This will also cause the 2009 Euro Liberty Cruises to rise. I bet Carnivals ability to secure cruise air also factored into the equation.

Wasn't Freedom doing the Med cruises? So they aren't going to have a ship in the Med just Liberty doing the Baltic itineraries?

Liberty will be doing Med in Sept and Oct 09, but that is it.

That makes sense. I know for my Panama cruise I had to take cruise air as I couldn't find anything close to that price. Just have to keep looking
