Victor with Countryside Tours was fantastic. He took us throughout the island. Were locals shop and their town, banking district, the university, the mall and old San Juan. Very personable gentleman, we learned a lot and had a great time doing it. Tour was $150 for the two of us in a large airconditioned van. He also recommended two restrauants to us for lunch. He was right on the money, local food that was fantastic. Can't say enough would easily book with him again if we went back the SJ.

Many companies offer excellent private tours, just ask if they are endorsed by the Tourism Board and if the guide is certified.

Good luck.

Default Looked at Legends of PR?

The last couple of times we have been in San Juan, we used Debbie from the Legends of PR outfit. They were very accomodating about changing the time from their standard tour times because it wouldn't work with our cruise schedule. I made arrangements for our group to do the walking tour of Old San Juan, and since it was my second time taking the tour, Debbie made certain that it was markedly different from my first experience.

THey also have tours to El Yunque, and I think they will set up something custom, if you ask for it. Just email Debbie at info@***********.comand she she'll set you up.

She can even set you up with a great place to eat - she told us about Mojito's - where we had a fabulous stuffed Mofungo (it was mofungo wrapped around a chicken stew - amazingly good stuff).

I can't recommend her heartily enough! Shoot her an email or give her a call - you won't be disappointed!

Happy cruising!
