Monarch of the Seas - Feb 6 and Feb 13 - 4 nights. I just booked the 2/6 cruise. Outside cabin for $311 total (incl taxes & port charge). single supplement was only 125%.

I've been looking for another solo cruise and this worked out great.

I'm not sure why on this ship the 5 day that does Belize and Coz is $1090. Oh well the cheaper air for stay in third cruise makes up for some of it. Sure wish I had a roomie for that one though.
Take me!!!

Default Solo to Antarctica

Just booked a cabin on L'Austral for January 20 RT Ushuaia with no single supplement. Trip is expensive, but much better than the usual 200% on Antarctic trips. I think it's also available on the January 30 departure. It's so soon, but worth it. Can't wait!

I called hoping to get this same rate but for the Feb 13th date. On the day I called they had neither rate and the lowest was $421 (incl taxes and port charge) on 2/6/2012 so I took that. 3 days later they lowered the price of the 2/13/2012 date that I originally wanted to (U guessed it!!!) $311 total. Its not that the $421 price is bad but when you add curise line air, shuttle fees, insurance ect my total bill was almost $1000 so it would have been nice for it to be $110 less. I called and asked about this but was told there was no discount I could receive because the date I booked (because I was told it was cheaper than my originally requested 2/13/2012) was still $421. Next time I hear about a great deal, but they tell me its not available, I will wait and watch for a few days before booking. Anyway, It will still be a blast. (THERES NO SUCH THING AS A BAD CRUISE!!!) In any event, I will also be on the 2/6/2012 Monarch cruise to Nassau so I'll see you there.

Looks like the Monarch 1/30 & 2/20 will have a 150% sup on the Monday sale for C&A.

Hi

That sounds like a great idea when you said transatlantic was it on the Independence of the Seas.

I would be interested in doing a transatlantic in April this spring also if anyone is interested, if anyone has a good deal. I am hoping to find something for Celebrity this evening at a travel meeting held by celebrity cruises.

Not Antarctica- but the Star Princess Santiago to LA 3/10/13 has about a 60% single supplement for insides and oceanviews. On their website insides are 2072, outsides 2272 so less than 150/day.

I just booked an obstructed view - first trip to South America and first time on Princess - and with plenty of time to save up for excursions and such.

I noticed that fares went down yesterday for many of Royal Caribbean's Transatlantic saililing in April and May. There were reductions for the Grandeur, Jewel, Adventure, and Liberty (maybe more). If interested head over to the Royal Caribbean site and select Transatlantic sailings in the 'Find A Cruise' front page function. Work your way through the booking process to get the final fare for one passenger.

For example the Adventure of the Seas, April 15, 2012, from San Juan to Malaga, inside single guarantee, comes out to $649.76.

I booked the Voyager which is a bit more.

Deals like these are what we wait for each year !!

I love TA's but need to take a break this year. In my mind if you book early they are some of the best bargains out there for singles.

I have been watching this and watching this particular cruise. It has been on the "bucket list". Not sure I would feel safe going solo. I'll sort of keep an eye on what you're doing and maybe I'll jump on board. It's a saveable cruise being that it over one year out. It's the air once again that I'm curious to know what it will be.

Hi Pat,

I don't have any plans to wander around by myself except in the Mexican ports - I'm thinking ship sponsored excursions......especially since I don't speak more than maybe a dozen words of Spanish and doubt I'll manage much more in the next year .

As for the air - of course one never knows what the future holds but Avianca's March rates for this year are a bit less than 1000 for DC to Santiago and then LAX back to DC.

And I don't know if this one qualifies, but a large agency is advertising that they will cover the required deposit for all bookings made this month.......

Just thought I'd tempt you a bit....and now I'll get back to the point of this thread and hunt some deals for between now and then .

Where in PA are you from? I'm in Lancaster County, southeast.

Hi Em and thanks. I am going to check out a few places to see about that deposit thingy. At least then I could hold a cabin just in case. Since you are leaving from D.C. it would be feasible for me to leave from there as well. We'll have to see what transpires. Thanks again.

Nuts! Found this: "Travel must be booked at least 100 days before departure and fulfilled by Dec. 31, 2012..."
