Anyone signed up for the Carnival Dream 10/15 ?

Just booked. My wife and I are looking forward to it. We had been booked for the Liberty for October 25 but CCL isn't putting Liberty in Europe next year.

recheck your rates on Thursday, they are having a big sale and may be offering some upgrades!!! Just a thought in case you want your balcony back!!!

Hi everyone,
Finally got all the bugs worked out after being cancelled for 10/25 on Liberty. So we will be joining you on the dream. Had to downgrade myself Nick from a 4G to a 4A. Asked if I could get the cabin upgrade because of the sale and they said NO it would cost another $180 pp because we have the past passenger discount already We did get our $250 OBC and are looking forward to Europe let's hope they don't cancel this one. Patrick let me know if you are still onboard for a group tour for Amalfi/Pompeii and I will try to do some research on rates and availability for a group.

Definitely still interested in Amalfi/Pompeii tour. I see that we will be in Venice and Monaco on Sundays. Do you think that will limit significantly what will be open?
I think we won't have to change ships again since Dream is being built in Europe. We originally booked on the Freedom which got pulled and then the Liberty. I think i saw a blurb recently that the Dream was floated out so its way to late for CCL to cancel or delay that ship without huge penalties.

Hi Patrick,
I don't think we will have a problem in Monaco or Venice either one. The Palace and museum is open everyday in Monaco and Venice has so many free sites shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully others from the Liberty will jump on board.

Hi Patrick and Anna,
Fancy meeting you here . Hi too to Nick and Joanne and anybody else I haven't met. We just switched over today. We were able to keep our original category of cabin 8G for the same price although we have to wait until Friday because they aren't allowing bookings in category 8G yet but they put a hold on our cabin for us, no OBC though. My PVP called this afternoon saying they just got notice that they would honor booked prices(apparently quite a few people were very irate that the Dream would be costing more) so Patrick and Anna you might want to check again although Patrick, it looks like you got a pretty good deal.

Hello everyone,

We were originally booked on the Freedom and then the Liberty. Hope we can stay on this ship!

It is our first time in Europe and we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary.

Not too excited that we lost a great room that was larger and had 2 windows and now have to pay more for the cruise and only got an inside. We also originally paid a fuel charge of $6 per day and now it's $10 per day. No breaks for us. Oh well! It's going to be a great cruise and we are very excited about the ports.

Does anyone know about the weather for this time of the year?

That is the same answer my TA got from Carnival. Also asked about Military discount but is not offered on the Dream. Like you said I hope they don't cancel this one. We where looking forward to going to Greece I was stationed there in the late 60's.

Janis and Dick we where in that area last year in October and the weather was real nice a little cool, but nice. It would be a little cool for a balcony so that is way I drop down to the outside cabin. I got the dulexe outside cabin which has a small tub and shower with ceiling to floor window, it was the same price I was paying for the Cat 8A balcony on the Liberty.
We will be celebrating our 50th anniverssary . Joanne and I are looking forwaqrd to meeting other folks on this cruise.

You're welcome ehogan, I've always learned so much on these boards I'm definitely glad to give back. . Anyway I guess I wont be getting many price drops in the future since it will really have to drop quite a bit but you never know so I guess we'll keep each other up to date on any new prices as the year progreses. Maybe we can also help each other out with airfare when it becomes available. We have quite a few options to fly to Rome-PHL, EWR, JFK, BWI or even IAD(I really hope I don't have to fly out of Dulles it's 4 hrs away maybe more) but I will for a great price. Anyway, it's good to have an active Roll Call.

Your room sounds nice. How big is your tub? I wished CCL had brochures out on the boat. I would like to find out how big my new room is.

I'm hoping we don't have any rain during our cruise, but I know I have to be prepared for anything.

Janis you can go on the Carnival web site and click on Carnival Fleet and than click on the Dream and than Stateroom and you can see all the cabins. The tub is not that big.

Was you able to keep your same Cat? We had a balcony and had to drop to outside for $100.00 more than I paid for my balcony on the Liberty. They told my TA that the balcony would have cost me $400.00 more if I kept the balcony.

Hello Everyone! WooHoo Thank you Terry
Just called the supervisor per my PVP and was able to get the same price, same cabin, same category and retain our OBC. Only difference was like $.62 in taxes, I can live with that. Now I am really excited again and I saved myself $460 from Tuesday booking and another $360 for the category upgrade for just calling, even though I was on hold for 30 minutes. I am glad the Carnival is stepping up to the plate and honoring their original bookings. So keep trying to work it out with your PVP or have them give you the supervisor phone number.

Thanks for the post my TA called Carnival got my orginal Cat 8b balcony which I had on the Liberty back with the OBC credit, which is about $200.00 less than the outside cabin I had to change to when this first changed.

We have our air treval right now through Carnival, but my TA said she will check in November to see if she can get cheaper air fare on our own, if so we will cancel Carnival air fare before we make out final payment. We are leaving a day early and staying in Civitavecchia the night before the cruise, TA trying to find a nice hotel in Civitavecchia and transfers. We will be flying out of New Orleans. Any body have any suggestion on hotel and transfer?

We finally got things sort of straightened out. We are on this sailing from the Liberty, nice to see some familiar faces. I am so glad you all post information, I was about ready to give up and forget about this trip if it wasn't for all of you!! The info on the carnival match was something my TA didn't even know about.
