Default Pre-Thanksgiving Weigh-in 11/26/08

Hey everyone! Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving for the U.S., I thought we could start the weigh-in a day early for those that will be too busy tomorrow to log on.

I'll start.....I stayed the same this week. I just hope I can claim that next Thursday.

I thought we all could post something that we're thankful for, which could be something to do with the Loser board, family, or whatever.

I'm thankful for all of you. I've been posting here for many years and I've never experienced a more "family" type of message board as the Loser board. I've been inspired so many times by so many people. This board keeps me focused and I've met some amazing people on here. So, to my Loser family, thank you for always being here for me.

On a lighter note.....don't let this be YOU tomorrow!

Sheila

Good Morning,

Sheila, thanks for starting the thread.

I stayed the same. A miracle considering I've been in a baking mood this past week. I made a really great layered pumpkin cake. Been trying to be good though. I made it Saturday and we still have 2 pieces for dessert tonight. I'm making turkey and trimmings for hubby and I (but making enough in case we have some stragglers). Hope to be a stay the samer next week.

What I'm thankful for: First my hubby. I don't have the best family and I always tell hubby that he makes me feel so loved.

Also, to everyone on the loser boards. I can't agree more with Sheila. Some of the other boards get a little dicey but everyone here is so supportive. Very thankful for all of you here.

Have a great holiday.

Hey everyone. Sheila, thanks for starting this thread.

I haven't been around much between my dad's funeral, three trips out of town, my new part time job writing a Cubs column and another deadline.

I did manage to GAIN a few pounds and I'm happy where I am now.

I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving. And remember, everything in moderation! Enjoy!

Happy Thanksgiving to all ... I'm still not weighing in, but I am truly thankful for all of the people on this board ... you have always helped with the ups and downs.

I'm thankful for my family ... a wonderful DH, great kids, siblings that still make me laugh and even though they are gone now .. I'm thankful the most that I had parents who were always there when I needed them.

Have a wonderful day all. Jan

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I am most thankful for my DH and 4 DS's.

I lost 2 lbs this week. I weighed in on Thursday morning. I had many temptations on Wednesday and almost gave in, but knowing I had to weigh in the next day really helped.

Jan in Maine, did you lose power over Thanksgiving? We lost ours Tuesday evening and didn't get it back on until 9:45 a.m. on Thanksgiving day. With guests coming for dinner at 2:00 it was a pretty busy day, thankfully DS and fiance didn't lose power so they came and picked up the turkey to cook for us. So now I am unwinding and reading all the boards I missed over the last several days

I definitely overate today, but know with exercise and getting back on track I should be fine with next weeks weigh in.

Hope you all have a great week.

Dall - Where in Maine are you? We were very lucky and only lost power on Tuesday enough to make the microwave blink. Not the best of days to lose power - we used to spend Thanksgiving in SW Harbor and I remember one year where we had no power .... Nice that your DS was able to cook the turkey!! Jan

Sheila, I didn't answer this yesterday.... I'm so thankfrul for all of you on this board! You've helped me through some awfully horrible times. When I started this particular board, I had no clue how close some of us would become. I don't post often anymore, but think of you often.

Miriam - Sounds like you are doing ok ... I asked Sheila about you on another thread, as hadn't "seen" you around. All the best, Jan

That is odd ... no don't have family or friends ... but we did buy a time-share in SW about 17 yrs ago and we used to have Thanksgiving week. Then the Bangor schools didn't like kids being out of school for the 3 days before Thanksgiving so we switched to the April school vacation week.

My youngest is now a senior in high school and all three kids have wonderful memories of our vacations ... many times we had to drive back and forth to work (or if school vacation was a different week) drive the kids to school.... the kids always brought down friends, so it was usually crazy with lots of laughter.

I love being in SW Harbor during the off season ... even though I'm playing tourist, there are not a lot of other people ... so it is much quieter. I'm actually going to be down on Friday night through Sunday afternoon this week ... Jan

Hey Miriam! You've been missed. We're so glad you started this board! Just look at what it has accomplished! You should be proud, friend. Glad to hear you gained a few pounds.
