the people who live in states that do not share a common
border with Mexico have a different outlook towards the threat.. it was announced this morning that the govonor has declared a state of emergency in calif.. one person brought AIDs into the US..and look at the result..can you imagine 2000 infected passenger s debarking in Long Beach..then catching flights thruout the country.. ![]() *well, maybe not all*..but, you get the idea if just a few passenger s got home with the bug and went to work befor symtom s appeared.. |

Carnival C.L. should be ashamed. There are several grade school groups booked for their May 31 Mexico cruise on the Splendor. Understandably, there are parents who do not want their children to proceed on this cruise given the Mexican situation. Carnival WILL NOT grant 100% refunds.
One of the schools offered to switch to an Alaskan Cruise with Carnival and CCL said no dice---pay the penalty! Get real, Carnival! |

In case you didn't know, Carnival uses Vancouver, BC as its southern port for Alaska.... and the Vancouver area has flu cases, now, too. Whether it reaches pandemic levels or not, you're not likely to find a cruise itinerary where there isn't at least a case or two of this flu nearby. People travel worldwide, so the flu will travel worldwide. Planes, buses, trains, ships... expect it to be onboard all. There may be hot pockets of flu, there may be waves, there may be very little impact at all. The media has a bone, they're running with it.... and the media is known for always discussing the worst case senario. We plan to travel as scheduled next month at this time. We'll be vigilant with handwashing as always, just as we are when we try to minimize our chances of contracting Norovirus. Last edited by Chat Noir; April 29th, 2009 at 08:11 AM. |

The link listed above can allow you to view where your ship or ships are based on their last reported position. With the flu bug causing the cruise lines to change their itineraries, this link will show where each cruise ship is. Seeing where your ship is this week might provide a clue as to where your ship will be in the coming week or weeks until the Flu bug is contained. |
