  1. Past hour
  2. I glad I didn't drink the cool aid. Silversea is doing a bad job.
  3. It is now answered in the insurance section; they go by where you lived when you booked.
  4. Yes, we called Celebrity in advance of our October 10th cruise and they allowed me to do that.
  5. Quick question for Odyssey aficionados. Looking to book Med cruise for next July but am concerned that the Odyssey only seems to have double sofa beds not pullmans for the children. Is this correct? There is no way that the children will share a double sofa bed. Even looking at interior cabins it says that they have sofa beds, not pullmans which is very unusual for an interior cabin. It looks like tow balconys are the way to go if we want interconnecting rooms
  6. FAQs have just been updated with all the info. Finally!
  7. By the way on my Sept. 5 Oasis sail, my documents were examined some 5-6 times before getting on ship. The feeling that I got, except for the check-in at the kiosk, was special emphasis to the Vaxx Card. Did that happen to you. Also, when you boarded the ship were you met by many staff members clapping and yelling "Welcome Back" while passing under an arch of balloons or was this simply because ours was the first sail.
  8. I do hope that is true. We have booked lunch in Trieste on turnaround day... and we really fancy some seafood... We'll have to keep our fingers crossed (toes are crossed for other holidays to come)!
  9. Could you elaborate on the need for a ESTA please Graham. It's 13 years since I last visited the US and 16 years since I sailed out of a US port and I can't remember exactly what I did then. My late wife used to organise all that sort of stuff.
  10. One of the definitions of luxury travel in the hotel/cruise ship industry is a high crew to guest ratio. It translates into better service, no waiting, instant gratification. We have been taking advantage of the situation every month (for 7 days each month) since July. This reduced capacity gives passengers, even in the lower categories the same benefit as the suite venues. The US has lifted its ban on European travelers starting November 2021 and I would venture to guess the ships might be filling up and capacities increased at this time, on Caribbean cruises from the US ports. I will report back next week on the capacity on Edge.
  11. I received a text 30 minutes later and an e-mail 90 minutes later. Dave
  12. I'd almost guarantee your hotel in Miami will have a business computer and printer off the lobby. Guests print their airline boarding passes all the time. Have a great cruise.

The trick will be the cancelled passengers getting the CASH MONEY BACK not just a FCC which locks you in with them. These guys might push FCC on people. Our agency for the Nov 14th - not the same firm - did process the cash refund when asked without fuss which I was surprised at when they would offer no assistance in the PCR test situation to board Anthem which would have left us stranded in NYC for 8 nights.
  14. I wish I knew, but I can tell you that NCL is way ahead of Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. They have practically nothing past April on their 2023 schedule.
  15. There is a third Excel class ship coming and will most likely homeport in Galveston.
  16. I was not the one who asked the question. I was one of the posters who did find it an intriguing question, one that should be asked in this group.
  17. By halfway through the cruise my smartphone was back where it belonged, in the cabin safe. The virtual queues i joined were so short i might as well have just turned up. Might be chaotic with a full passenger load though.
  18. Fingers crossed everyone... we are waiting for the results of our boarding test at the terminal 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
  19. For Princess, it's better on the Royal class ships. The Star in Jan. 2020 the food was the worst we ever had on a ship. The Ultimate balcony dinner was superb, so I know they are capable. Oceania spends more money per pax on food than any other line.
  20. Very nice to see Crystal Symphony now sailing to and from Manhattan. Press Release from Crystal Cruises follows: Keith Crystal Cruises Restarts Cruising from New York as First Cruise Line to Set Sail Since Pandemic Crystal Symphony departs Manhattan Cruise Terminal on Luxury Bermuda Escapes the first in a series of nine 7-night cruises to Bermuda MIAMI, September 24, 2021 – Today Crystal Cruises, the World’s Most Awarded Luxury Cruise Line, celebrates its return to cruising from New York City as Crystal Symphony sets sail this evening on her Luxury Bermuda Escapes. The voyage is the first in a series of nine seven-night cruises sailing round-trip from New York’s Manhattan Cruise Terminal departing every Friday through November 19, 2021. This series follows Crystal Symphony’s Luxury Bermuda Escapes series out of Boston in late August and early September, which earned rave reviews. “We are delighted to sail once again from New York’s Manhattan Cruise Terminal, offering our guests the chance to experience Crystal’s unmatched luxury, Michelin-level cuisine and genuine personalized service on voyages close to home,” said Jack Anderson, president of Crystal. “Travelers can enjoy the stunning pink-sand beaches and abundant outdoor pursuits of Bermuda with peace of mind knowing that their health and safety is our number one priority and our comprehensive Crystal Clean+ measures and vaccination requirement assure them a safe and pleasurable trip.” Crystal Symphony will set sail with all guests and crew fully vaccinated and with Crystal’s guests and crew following all local health guidelines and protocols when visiting Bermuda. Crystal has implemented new Crystal Clean+ protocols that address the unique challenges of COVID-19 with measures that are under continual review based on scientific data and evolving recommendations from local and global authorities. Already boasting one of the highest space-per-guest ratios in the industry and nearly twice the space per guest as ships of similar scale, Crystal Symphony is sailing with reduced capacity to offer guests even more social spaciousness. The line has also just announced that it will extend its current vaccine requirement for guests and crew through 2022. “As the manager of both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Cruise Terminals, NYCEDC has worked closely with federal, state, and local health officials as well as our terminal operator, Ports America, and the cruise lines to ensure all health and safety protocols are met. The health of operations staff, crew, and passengers remain our highest priority,” said New York City Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Rachel Loeb. “At the same time, we are excited to welcome the cruise lines back to New York cruise terminals as a sign of New York City’s recovery. The cruise industry helps generate millions of dollars in tourism revenue across the city, bolstering Broadway, restaurants, museums, and other special events that translate into jobs for New Yorkers.” All-inclusive fares for Crystal Symphony’s Luxury Bermuda Escapes start at just $1,999 per person when booked by November 3, 2021. Guests wishing to enjoy the diversions of New York City have the option to extend their travels with a pre- or post-cruise hotel stay at The Pierre Hotel a historic 5th Avenue landmark or the Intercontinental New York Times Square within walking distance of the Broadway Theater District, shopping and restaurants. The seamless hotel experience features transfers between the airport and the hotel as well as the hotel and the ship, breakfast daily, complimentary wi-fi and all hotel taxes and fees. The crystal-clear waters of Bermuda offer endless adventures including reefs and shipwrecks for snorkeling and diving, sport fishing, sailing, kayaking, and more. In Bermuda, Crystal Symphony will dock at the Royal Naval Dockyard, a British stronghold for more than 150 years, now home to historic architecture, shopping, galleries, restaurants, and more. Whether exploring the cobbled streets of the century’s old town and UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. George, biking the scenic Bermuda Railway Trail, or enjoying the pink-sand beaches of Bermuda’s South Shore, guests will encounter endless wonders and stunning natural beauty. 21. Smart phones don't have to be expensive, am typing this on a £70 phone, when I bought it there was also one that cost £40. It was bought sim free, I then got a sim only £10 a month contract to cover usage, at the moment it's connected to my house Wi-Fi, on a ship its connected to theirs. In the shop ask for a cheap sim free phone, they will try to get you to sign up for a contract that includes the phone, don't, these are more expensive.
