We just booked this!  We were looking for a cheap cruise to get away for a few days and this fit the bill. [We did not want to go to Bermuda or NE/Canada]

 

Full disclosure - we have not been on a Carnival cruise in 10 years (my only one, but my DW has been on a few prior to that), and we do prefer the other cruise lines. HOWEVER, I have read over the years that Carnival has upped its offerings, especially on longer cruises (this is 8 days), so we are willing to try it again.

 

We do have a little bit of experience on a few cruise lines and itineraries, mostly in North America and Europe.  We are looking forward to Turks and Caicos, one of the Caribbean islands we have never visit.  We are not beach people, so not looking forward to the Corporate Cays (my moniker for the private islands), but this is another cruise meant for relaxation.

 

I know that these Roll Calls are not as popular anymore (with only 6 months to go, I was surprised that no one else has begun a thread.  If anyone wants to join this read, we are happy to have you!

 

Looking forward to this cruise to just relax and get away!!!

Has anyone ever taken Amtrak into Manhattan and then UBER to the port?  Is this practical or an issue?

 

Should I fly in and if so where is the best place to stay?

 

If I drive in, is parking there safe and easy?

 

I have never been into NYC and I am just wondering and looking for help.
