Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I am sure these points have been considered previously, but if not, is a "fly-cruise" with P&O defined as a package holiday under the relevant legislation? If so, what does this mean for liability for compensation for delay?
  2. Worth reading the small print to see if hoses are classed as consumables, and if so whether consumables are covered.
  3. BBC quoting P&O as saying that a small number of people are being cared for onboard after sustaining minor injuries, and that the ship will stay in Palma to allow for a technical assessment.
  4. I am in Silhouette at the moment, heading towards Vigo, Spain. Not mid-Atlantic, but I have been impressed with the internet and Wi-Fi coverage so far since sailing out of Southampton on Saturday evening
  5. Personal view, ymmv. I would pay more a little than $100 pp to “”Move Up” to an Acqua Class cabin given the benefits (especially Blu restaurant). I would probably not pay $600 pp to “Move Up” to Suite class. But this would depend on what I had paid for my original cabin. And whether this was a “special occasion” cruise etc. But if I did choose to bid on a suite it would be on a Sunset Sky Suite because of the size of balcony and better views (avoiding the window washing equipment). Hope this helps.
  6. Understood. I know Cruse Critic follows the Trio Adviser x/5 model, but I sometimes think a y/10 or % score would give reviewers more latitude. Wouldn’t be as quick or easy though I guess.
  7. Really good detailed review. Just a personal opinion, but. for me, given the overall content of your review 4 out of 5 might seem a generous mark.
  8. From the FAQs on Parking4cruises website: Our Service How does your Meet & Greet service work? On the day of your cruise, you drive to the cruise terminal short stay car park and drop off your car with one of our Meet & Greet team. You are then free to go ahead and board the cruise ship, while a fully insured Parking4Cruises driver moves your vehicle to our secure compound, less than 3 miles away. How far away from the terminal is the short stay car park? The location of the short stay car park varies depending on the cruise terminal. The approximate distances for each terminal are as follows: Queen Elizabeth II: 120 metres. Ocean Terminal: 50 metres. City Cruise Terminal: 310 metres. Mayflower: 100 metres. Are the drivers fully insured to drive my vehicle? Yes! All of our drivers are fully insured to drive all of our customer's vehicles through insurers QBE. Don't you need to know my drop off time? A lot of cruise parking companies will insist that you specify a drop off time for your car. However, we know in the real world, there are times where plans change or traffic causes you to be delayed. To make sure your cruise parking is hassle and stress free, we instead send you a text message on the morning of your drop off. All you need to do is make your way to the specified cruise terminal, and let us know when you're about 30 minutes away. This means we can have a member of our Meet & Greet team waiting for you. Where should I drive to? You'll need to drop your car off at the cruise terminal that your cruise ship is docked at. 48 hours before your cruise, we'll email you with the most up to date information, including directions to your cruise terminal. We'll also send you a text message on the morning of your cruise to let you know we're expecting you. When I arrive at the cruise terminal where do I drop off my car? Once you have arrived at the cruise terminal you will be directed by the traffic marshals into the baggage drop off lanes to unload your bags. Once you've done this, head over to the short stay car park (around 20 metres way) and keep an eye out for the Parking4Cruises flag. Our Meet & Greet staff will be waiting for you.
  9. This was posted two hours ago on the other thread on Move Up (lower down the page): Just got our MoveUp bid to Aqua 👌👌accepted for our cruise next week in Scandinavia. Anyone experienced Aqua recently on the Silhouette? Suggests your thought about initial batch of Move Up bids having happened may be correct
  10. Could be. Has there been an increase in the number of non-suite cabins available (released as a result of the “flow down” from successful Move Up bids? Complicating factor in your case is needing two successful bids. Always a risk of only one success as it is virtually impossible to synchronise the total value of your bids exactly. Even if your friends have booked an equivalent cabin as you at the same price you will not know the value to Celebrity of any other Move Ups as a result of the flow down of yours.
  11. Not P&O, but there were photographers on Celebrity Silhouette last year sailing out of Southampton.
  12. Any more information on the rationale for this?
  13. Did you happen to notice which brands of perfumes/aftershave the make up store stocked? Many thanks.
  14. Yes. We were successful last summer with the same Move Up as you (Sky Suite to Royal Suite).
