  1. Recent FB post from Ben and David. I would be willing to bet someone on that ship is looking for another job today. “Ahoy, we have just had a meeting with MSC Cruises. We are pleased MSC Cruises are taking this very seriously and have apologised profusely and expressed their disappointment with what happened to us on the MSC World Europa. They are going to be taking proactive measures to prevent such incidents in the future, including the implementation of a fleet wide training program to equip crew members with better skills to handle similar situations. Furthermore, MSC Cruises has extended an invitation for us to collaborate on developing a new policy for content creators and filming/taking photographs onboard. This policy aims to support both invited and non-invited content creators while safeguarding the comfort and privacy of passengers and crew. We think this marks a significant step forward, as no other cruise line has undertaken such an effort before. In addition to these measures, MSC Cruises will be providing us with a full refund. We really want to move past this incident and transform the negativity surrounding it into something positive. We have accepted the apology offered by MSC Cruises. We sincerely thank you all for your amazing support throughout this all. Now, we are eager to refocus on our passion: creating entertaining cruise content and sharing our adventures with you all. Thank you once again for your support.”
  2. I have been reading this same complaint for years here on CC. Nothing has changed. I look at it as what if it worked the opposite way and a cruise line could raise your fee as the ship started to meet full capacity? After I make final payment, I never check the current prices. This is not a rip off. You agreed to the price when you booked.
  3. Then it becomes discrimination. Maybe that was the case here. A same sex couple was stopped filming. How many heterosexual couples or individuals was stopped?
  4. I can go to YouTube right now and there are people live streaming from the Disney parks. Disney has not changed their policy. People livestream from the rides everyday and the cast members say nothing.
  5. This is what some do not get. It’s the cruise line or any businesses choice to allow filming or photos but you can’t pick and choose who can do this. Be consistent. It was not done in this situation. Does anyone really believe that Joe Blow asked permission to take photos around the ship or specifically the YC? Of course not. People can just as easily be captured in photos as they can on video. In this case we may never know the truth so each of us has the right to defend the side that we choose. All cruise lines have their die hard fans. We are seeing examples of that today. I have no issue with that but others see it a different way.
  6. I think that hits the nail on the head…That person may be posting here…...😉😉😉 MSC can eliminate filming or photo taking but they need to be consistent and across the board. I have no issue with that but if you stop one, you must stop all or you have proved that you discriminate. The response from MSC in this case was a joke. It’s obvious that MSC has no idea how to handle a screw up. Also, it seems that those of a certain age group dislike social media when it’s around us everyday. Just take a look at the amount of people who are on camera daily at the Disney parks, Vegas and many other public areas and probably have no idea. It’s no different when you’re cruising in a public venue and yes even the YC is a public venue.
  7. Agree. It’s obvious from the amount of videos and yes even very recent videos of the YC on various MSC ships posted on YT. Not my call on filming being allowed but at least be consistent across the board with everyone. That’s not the case here. Either ban everyone from filming and taking photos or MSC needs to apologize to these two.
  8. I invite you to go to YouTube and type in MSC Yacht Club. Many, many videos filmed here with other guest clearly in the background. I don’t see NSC enforcing the NO video policy that you insists exists.
  9. I would not stay where I clearly was not wanted. I think that they did take the high road.
  10. Vindictive? Did you even bother to watch the entire video. They still rated the Yacht Club experience a five out of five. They rated it as one of their best suite experiences. Vindictive? LMBO! 🙄
  11. Take a look at YouTube. There are countless videos where people have filmed all over the ships. Why target these two? I say it’s for the previous video where they got skewered. These two have always been careful to avoid filming around others. I myself have had to deal with MSC management and they’re horrible at customer service. If anyone wants to see what over the top vloggers/influencers look like, search the videos on YT of the Icon inaugural. Then watch Ben and David’s inaugural video of the Icon.
  12. Lois, we personally do not see a lot of changes that are negative. We look at being healthy and having the resources to cruise as a good thing and don’t worry about the little things. With having a suite, your room service will be included. Welcome back to X.
  13. We like them and plan to use them in the fall for our TA. We don’t find them overpriced. We do our homework to make sure that we book with the right company.
