Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. We on on Pursuit, the Tenerife Amazing Evening in Santa Cruz was a highlight of the cruise and very memorable. We were b2b and the following week in Malaga the Amazing Evening was an onboard performance by a local Flamenco group. Very professional but the "experience" was not a patch on the previous week which one presumes cost Azamara a lot more to put on. Some inconsistency in what Azamara delivered there.
  2. Pool and hot tubs are open, breakfast in buffet from today (Tuesday) is self serve, all bottles of the S African and water from other African countries taken out of room and replaced with Spanish variety. Not sure about laundry, two days ago we left our laundry with a very efficient person in the laundry and she had it returned to us the same day, all nicely cleaned. The Captain has not made any health announcements, ie wash your hands since the day we boarded so with a bit of luck things are returning to normal. The Captain and his senior officers were out greeting guests before last nights show which is a good sign. We have met guests who were on the previous cruise from Africa and are still suffering unfortunately.
  3. Anyone know if a three night package is purchased pre cruise and you are on a b2b cruise, can the three nights be spread across both legs of the cruises?
  4. Email just received, I live in The UK, confirmation that no wire transfers have been made yet. Thank you for submitting your additional information. For your records, your assigned claim number is #-----. Please note that we do not have an established date for when we will begin wire transfers. We are in the process of preparing, verifying and reviewing information at this time. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact us directly at this email address, which is infocc@moecker-crystal.com. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this ongoing case and process. Sincerely, Crystal Cruise Claims Team
  5. I have just spoken to Oceania UK about pre purchasing a Select Package, there used to be a discount for pre purchasing, apparently they no longer can apply this and the price would be the same as doing it onboard, it could possibly be cheaper if you are entitled to a discount due to your Oceania Club level, this can only applied onboard according to the representative I spoke to. Does anyone know if they still have a happy hour with two for one priced drinks and cocktails?
  6. Morning, CruiseMapper shows Dawn berthed at the QE11 terminal.
  7. Spirit of Discovery can be seen on Good Morning Britain today at Tilbury Docks today. They were doing an article on Windrush and SOD had just arrived at the docks. ITVx app can show the program on replay.
  8. Full payment due today 30th April, it's 120 days before embarkation.
  9. Pleased to see Azamara website health section shows pre cruise testing NOT needed for Athens. Good news!
  10. Has anyone had experience of testing in Piraeus, Celestial cruises are recommending Bioiatriki healthcare group who have two sites near the port and they say appointments are not necessary.
  11. Thanks for the info on upgrading from Select to Prestige once onboard and hoping for the 10% silver discount. I will be boarding soon so will not expect this perk although I will ask! On a point of interest, our last cruise on O was in March, On boarding a request was made for us to go straight to muster stations and the card was swiped to record attendance. One of our party saw a desk set up with waiters selling drinks packages, he went straight to said desk, and on purchasing was issued with a new card, he then went to muster station and the card was not recognised, quite a time was then needed going to guest services to try and make the new card work for mustering, in the end they had to put a note on their system to confirm that the guest had been to his muster station and had complied with the requirements.
  12. Those who are at Silver level can apparently receive 10% discount on a drinks package. Does anyone know if the 10% would be applied to an upgrade to Prestige which would bring down the daily upgrade cost to $18.
  13. Have they increased the price of the dining packages? I seem to remember that the three night package was $70
  14. We were on the previous cruise to The Baltic on SOA, a lot of the cheeses in the grill were untried to us, English cheeses, it was nice to try them. The lido bar was open until 6:00pm, they also will serve soft ice cream on request in tub or cornet from the nearby machine. The Veranda bar on deck 12 aft usually serves drinks until 6:00 pm. They will also set tables there for evening meals if the weather is good. On occasion they will grill steaks and other items out there for evening meals if the weather is nice. Afternoon tea was also available in The Living room, servers took orders for tea and there were a couple of trollies to choose scones, cakes and sandwiches from. Full service afternoon tea is always available in The Main Dining Room. I also spotted scones on the bar of The Discovery Lounge on deck 12 at tea time. Photographers were onboard doing portraits etc, they were very discreet unlike on other cruise lines. We got to the supper club twice and musicians started at about 7:30pm. When we were onboard some of the musicians were in isolation so those who were able to perform had to "jam" with others who were available in venues they did not usually play in. They seemed to enjoy being able to extend their talents. Hopefully isolation is not now a problem.
