  1. O I agree with you. I was referring to using words like complicit for a discussion on this topic.
  2. I love when posters start sounding like someone on Dateline. Queue ominous music. 🤣
  3. Almost, it is also about the imminent take over of Jamaica by the Haitian Navy using the personal watercraft after the battle of the beach cabanas. Got to keep this straight, although it is very confusing. 🤣 I just keep thinking if we could only have whirled peas. As it is I am thinking I just need to stay in the Airstream today, as it has been raining and blowing 40MPH outside most of the morning. Hopefully, I won’t drown when the Airstream gets washed off the beach at the OBX and I end up in the ocean. 😃
  4. Lots of drama. Thanks for that!
  5. So, we should visit Haiti never? You have gone on, but I am still waiting for the invasion of the zip line and the battle of the jet skis. I mean there was so much danger, think of all the Coca Cola left behind. If I was starving the battle of the mountain coaster would keep me alive for months. 😉
  6. Success is so different for so many people. As I mentioned I have no idea when you start withdrawing, typically it starts off at age 73 currently at about 3 to 4%. At least that is what my investment guru is telling me. Since that is a few years off, we are still invested in the market with about 2/3 of our “nest egg” and the rest is currently a CD ladder earning north of 5% as it rolls thru 3,6,9 and 1 year amounts until it rolls over to whatever when they mature. Keeping it so, I have money without penalty for anything we need or want at the longest wait of 3 months. I don’t hang out in this one of the silliest threads to live this long in the history of CC, but way back when this started, I mentioned the random walk theory. I still believe it is a very good explanation of why “experts” don’t really exist when it comes to picking winning and losing individual stocks. Of course, if you are a politician say living in San Francisco, and you know beyond a doubt that the government is going to say spend a trillion dollars on something that is in the next omnibus bill to keep the government running it is likely that you truly are an expert and can have your husband invest in things that the government is going to spend said trillions on. Unfortunately, for the vast amount of citizens this is not an option. JC<——— is just an ordinary citizen with an ordinary wife (well she is actually extraordinary, just not in the way described about a hypothetical person in SF)😂
  7. I just did a math guess of 3% required withdrawal, and rounded it up to the next million. We don’t know when the poster started withdrawing so 3%, 4%, 5% all are options. Maybe even 2%. I am not an expert on this, but yeah, you are probably correct. I, personally, can’t think why I would feel the need to share this information, but hey, it is all good. 🤣. Nothing scary out here on the internet. jc
  8. Weren’t you worried about Haiti at a very high level? I am thinking your logic is a bit off. Port Au Prince is super scary. Labadee, not. Ocho Rios, Jamaica, pretty scary… anywhere outside of fenced in cruise line areas pretty scary. Falmouth, Jamaica not so much. I am sure that the thugs in Port Au Prince will be in control of the Haitian Navy and will conquer Jamaica this weekend. So much for March Madness.😂
  9. Congrats on your 2 million in 401K…. Buying a million worth of RCL is a bad investment, buying 100 shares and cruising a lot… is a no-brainer. 95% of the people ( I am guessing but bet I am right) own more than 100 and less than 200 shares. If you cruise 4 to 5 times a year you could make gains of more than about any regular investment I know of. That said, buying a stock like RCL is not a real investment it is a fun activity that you enjoy. The Shareholder benefit while it is combinable is wonderful luxury. JC<——— spent a lot of time in gradual school in economics (no misspelling).
  10. Not sure getting comatose drunk is getting even, but I do guess it is a start!🤣
  11. I don’t believe a single person expects them to change pricing after final payment. Obviously if you have a cruise booked months and months away prices are always dynamic and they could drop, but only if lots of people cancel or new bookings slow down. I didn’t realize that was why you called RCCL. Waste of time that. 🤪 I was just commenting on calling RCCL in general is not a good way to learn anything at all. 😂 jc
  12. RCCL is a large corporation with a large call center. Many of those employees know less about Royal than my dog.
  13. I would not hesitate to take a ships tour in Falmouth. Far safer and nicer than Nassau. IMHO jc
  14. I think 2 days at Falmouth is a better option than Nassau. Watching the news is usually as in depth as watching the results of a football game on the 10 o clock news. IE not other than the score.
