Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Ok...so the "suite menu" for breakfast and lunch is similar to the Haven restaurant and not just a private restaurant that serves the same as main dining?
  2. I feel like this has probably been asked/answered before, and I DID do a search, but didn't really find what I was looking for. We have sailed in the Haven a few times and it was absolutely wonderful. However, we are looking at a cruise on a ship that does not have the Haven. What are suite perks that are included and is it worth it if there are no dedicated areas like the Haven has? What we loved about the Haven: A dedicated restaurant and the concierge perks like being escorted on/off ship, reserved seating in shows, and early access to some areas. The Haven bartenders are always top notch, and while we like the private area of the Haven, that is of less importance than the service we received. Curious about others' experiences..
  3. We are on that cruise as well, and I'm stressing about our flights as well. Ours is at 9:30 am! I realize that the ship will overnight there, so hopefully getting off by 6 am won't be an issue. Ship should have plenty of time to clear customs...LOL
  4. What part of the Panhandle are you from? We are cruising the Norwegian Joy on Nov 25 - Dec 6 through the canal and ending at Fuerte Amador. We're from Panama City (FL)! We will be in Panama City, Panama and Panama City, FL on the same day! (hopefully...LOL) I'm nervous because our flight is a little early for my tastes
  5. I remember years ago when we were on the Escape, Food Republic was open for lunch. Does anyone know if that is the case on the Joy? I don't think it was open for lunch on the Prima in January. We do like Food Republic, and now that I've learned we can break up the FAS dining, that might be a great option for us!
  6. Ok. That makes sense, but still not sure how to do it. Do you just tell them at the desk that we are using "my" FAS? And not to charge DH's FAS? With my luck they would put two items on mine, and two items on his, and ...poof...they're both gone.
  7. Ok...I'm intrigued. How do you go twice? DH and I are both platinum, but the footnote at the bottom of the page states vouchers for two per Cabin....not per person. 6 Benefit is available on sailings 5 days or longer, and entitles each guest to an appetizer, one entrée and dessert of choice. Upcharges apply to certain premium menu items; Raw Bar Seafood Platter is not included. Bottle of Wine offered in all venues offering Complimentary Wine list, Palomar not included. In à la carte restaurants, coupon can be redeemed for 4 menu items per person (Sushi, Wasabi, Nama, Teppanyaki, Hasuki, Food Republic, Pincho Tapas Bar or Raw Bar). Additional entrées will incur supplemental charges. Dinner coupons are non-transferrable. Solo guests cannot claim two dinners. Coupons can’t be used for the same venue twice. 2 guests maximum. Dining options vary by ship.
  8. There were hashbrowns on the Getaway Oct 1 - 12
  9. I know many may disagree with me since it doesn't offer the "thrill rides" so to speak like go carts, ropes courses, etc....but the NCL Spirit was my absolute favorite ship in the fleet...and I haven't sailed on her since the big refurbish!! Absolutely loved the small intimate feel of that ship. All of your questions were answered pretty well above, but I will add just a bit to the tendering question. If you are needing a really early tender for whatever reason, you will want to go to Guest Services. There are many guests who will receive "priority" over you since you are a first time cruiser. Suite guests, higher level latitudes members, ship excursions, etc. will all get priority tickets. So if you have a need for an early tender, the kiosk won't be much help. Good luck!
  10. How do we request to have it brought to our cabin? Or is it only included if we go out and about on the ship?
  11. I'm curious...is it 100% automatic now? Or do you still have the option to decline the upgrade? I'm considering bidding, but I'm afraid the new cabin will be under the buffet or the pool. According to the customer service reps, you can still decline the upgrade, but I just don't trust them! I'd rather stay in my deluxe balcony than get a mini suite or even suite under the buffet!
  12. You can make reservations after the "official" final payment date, not when you make your final payment. You can choose to pick "same time every night" as an option too! I'm not sure about same table though.
  13. For Dublin, I would second the Hop on/Hop off. It literally makes stops at all the highlights. Just budget your time at the places you want to stop because if you spend too much time in one place, you won't make it everywhere you want to stop!
