Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Taxi timing moved forward five hours. Great! No luck with BA seats. Must stress Saga after sales staff have been excellent.
  2. Been told by Saga we will be collected by taxi almost 11 hours before departure of aircraft! It's only 2 hours 30 to LHR from where we live. But their lovely Kirsty in their after sales service has agreed it needs looking into.
  3. I have the booking code from Saga, but BA say it is a group booking so cannot help until tickets are issued by Saga (which I am told is four days prior to departure). Even Saga say we can only check in at the airport before boarding “But we try to sit our group together.”
  4. Having enjoyed more than 30 cruises, including two ocean cruises with Saga and another booked next year, we thought we would try one of their river cruises (instead of our usual choice, Scenic). One difference, of course, is that the Saga chauffeur takes you to the airport terminal, not the ship. Fair enough. They even book you into an airport lounge at Heathrow. But because they don't issue flight tickets until just four days, yes four days, before the flight, you can't choose seats until then - even for disabled people, which Saga otherwise cares for very well. And I needed that help. The fact I'm a long time BA Exec Club member was no help as I couldn't use the benefits. Why? BA told me they were sorry but the problem was Saga's policy. We've booked another river cruise with a different company for October. Seats chosen with BA. No Problem. Come on Saga, this is a poor policy for a company that otherwise takes good care of the elderly and disabled so well.
  5. Saga has some newish river ships and is all inclusive - as long as you are over 50!
  6. We have done over 30 ocean cruises but have now moved to river. Simpler, quieter and less fuss. Can recommend Scenic but this year are trying Saga. Thought you have to be over 50!
  7. So, if you but a drinks package the "loyalty" vouchers are worthless?
  8. Thank you. So the Diamond Lounge Happy Hour drinks menu is confusing when it says "Have a drink on us for your loyalty." That's what it says and shows an extensive selection of drinks on the RCL web site today! No mention of coupons.
  9. My wife and I are both Diamond on RCL and Elite on Celebrity, but we haven't sailed on the former since before the pandemic and I'm confused about free drinks. We sail on Rhapsody next month and understand we will each receive four daily drinks vouchers which I presume we could use for, say, two wines with lunch and two with dinner. Is this correct? And drinks are free in the Diamond Lounge 5 to 8pm, yes? Thank you.
  10. Thank you but I did realise that. But I can't find any information on the HAL website about such a package.
  11. First time on HA but more than 30 cruises taken. Having trouble understanding pre cruise choices for alcoholic drinks. Most lines offer a "cost per day" option, but can't find this on HA. Advice?
