  1. As someone who has been wearing custom-made orthotics for 40 years, since training for a marathon when I pulled a groin muscle due to improper gait. I would only go to a podiatrist and preferably a sports podiatrist. But that’s just me. Whatever the reason is that you think you need orthotics, you really should get a medical or other professional opinion and have them custom-made. Again, that’s just me. I do get new ones annually and use them in all of my sport shoes but not my dress shoes. And you get what you pay for. They are around $500 a pair. But you are also paying for the expertise of the professional who fits you. And if you buy them on the ship and you realize after you get off the cruise that they aren’t any good, you’re SOL.
  2. Was in Neptune last week with my mom and sis. The king bed split in two and I slept on the couch. It was hard and flat but put a blanket under sheet and I found it quite comfy. Loved the pillows and sheets, and slept like a baby.
  3. What is minimum for BJ? (Get your head out of the gutter - I’m asking about the casino game, and asking for a friend.)
  4. Which Wi-Fi package supports phone calls? I have HIA so do I need to upgrade? And what about for FaceTime? And for Zoom as I may need for work?
  5. That could be a problem as I don’t eat or like fried foods. But I’m sure there will be baked or broiled options.
  6. My mother sailed QM or QE, can’t remember which, so thought about it, but way too large a ship for my liking.
  7. It is true; life is never the same after your first cruise. Our first cruise was on NCL actually, and I loved the concept of getting on, unpacking once, convenience of meals, and travelling around. My mom introduced us to Seabourn and that was pretty much it. Tried others (SilverSea, SeaDream) but truly love SB. Now it’s my time to take my mother on a cruise. Unfortunately, since she is mobility-limited, so too is our choice of embark and disembark ports. (SB has one out of California but it’s too long / too many sea days.). That said, my sister, who is also going with us, loves Azamara and gambling and lots of activities, so HAL seemed a good fit. We are all so excited and looking forward to participating in as many activities as we can.
  8. @Mary229 answered my question. I don’t like fancy food with lots of sauces; I would rather have a plain chicken or steak and lots of veggies. I did not want to be limited to the dishes as listed on the menu. Not quite When Harry Met Sally, but not too far either 🙂
  9. That’s all i wanted to know. Thank you. (Not a fan of lobster tails, but I do like a good pork chop.)
  10. This is my first tine on HAL so that is why I asked. Your answer is not, unfortunately, what I was hoping to hear. Oh well.
  11. Yes and received confirmation and instructions.
  12. Thanks, @toofarfromthe sea. I do remember you saying that, but wonder if that it universal or you just got lucky. Looking forward to our cruise. We have priority boarding, and will get to port by 11:30 so hopefully will board quickly as I don’t want my mom to have to wait.
  13. May one order or request something that is not on the menu for dinner in the MDR or Orange Club restaurant?
  14. What’s the situation with Norovirus? Have cases increased or decreased? What extra cleaning has actually been conducted?
